And this from a ITV journalist:

Peter A Smith
@PeterAdamSmith
Has FlyBe just ceased operating in front of my eyes? Waiting to board a FlyBe flight to Birmingham and all of their flights have just been cancelled. Advice from staff is FlyBe “definitely will not be flying out tomorrow either.

Sad news for Flybe, good luck to all the staff. Also bad news for the regionals.

You can see the Notice on the door, and a ranger parked behind the aircraft.

Would that be airport charges or can they be put on if fuelling hasn’t been paid. I ask because Flybe are citing “fuelling miscommunications”....

Posted on Twitter that this winter Flybe has 93% of all slots at SOU, 81% at BHD and 70% at EXT. 51% at JER, 49% at CWL

Those will be very quiet places...

Well an ABZ-BHX flight (BE329) has just departed. Nothing impounded here it seems.

A disgrace if this is true and the government have not stepped in. It goes completely against everything they say to justify the ridiculous expense of HS2 (i.e. connectivity and getting the country moving and growing the economy post brexit).

Saying that, it is quite strange that BE cannot make money with very economical q400s on routes they largely have no competition on. Yes its been badly run, but maybe APD really does mean that regional air routes are not viable? If so, then clearly a dangerous precedent is being set where air travel is completely at the mercy of the environmental nuts. Unlike Greta Thunberg i'm not sure many of these nuts will be travelling down to Spain for their holidays on a million pound sail boat. Still, I am sure they will all sleep well tonight knowing the environment is supposedly a better place despite the fact that thousands of people have lost their jobs in the process.

If I'm honest... one thing stands out to me more than anything as has happened in previous airline fairlines. It's called press reporting restrictions.

There's a lot happening on social media, naturally and there's some journo's picking up on stuff there but there's a distinct lack of any reporting at any major news outlet really which may indicate that there is something due to be released formally very shortly. But may not. Nothing more than wild speculation.
