The article is below, however i now notice that since its release 18 hours ago, they have now changed the info is coming from Expedia, not Emirates (definately said Emirates last night), so apologies for that.
Revealed: Who books the most flights to UAE? Not Asians - Emirates 24|7

According to the 2014 MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index, the top five feeder cities to Dubai for overnight stays (measured by International Overnight Visitors - admittedly slightly different perhaps to O&D) are London (1.014m), Riyadh (456k), Kuwait (430k), Jeddah (423k) and Paris (408k). Just gives some perspective to the discussion...
How come they have a "no bag" policy on any of their escalators
I was told at another airport that this is because so many accidents and injuries are cause by people taking big & heavy bags on escalators - both to themselves and to people below them - when luggage and/or they take a tumble.

Was a bit when I found out in March; esp. since the lifts are rather "low performers".

Thomas Cook have just stated on twitter that MAN-LAX is still happening in 2016.
They say that the schedules were removed due to operational changes, but, will be back on sale in 'a couple of weeks'.
They also stated that flights would be on Mondays and Saturdays from March 28th.

That's brilliant! Good to see more U.S. service at Manchetser and hopefully these flights will be successful. What is the demand for flights to and from LA? And will they be targeting mainly leisure travellers?

in a couple of weeks they should be released again. I am unable to confirm the exact schedule yet.

Was nice to see Manchester advertising when out and about in Stoke earlier. A massive advert with the logos of mainly the Asian carriers that fly here in addition to BA and VS. Surprised they weren't advertising many American airlines though or routes though, the advert just said WORLD with the logos underneath. Perhaps the VS and BA logos were referencing transits through Heathrow?

If anyone remembers those magnificent chandiliers in T1 in the 90s? I would love to see those back as it was one of my earliest memories of the airport as a kid!

Hey folks,
Thanks for the replies I was rather distracted this weekend so just managed to catch up.
Interesting point re the escalators, But I see the issue.
Ah yeah I just saw the article about the chandeliers. Magnificent they were and one of the very last glamours taken away from flying I feel.
The whole terminal looked so grand (if not dated later on)

First it was dogs, then it was a flamingo, now it's a drone.
Unusual reasons for suspended ops at Manchester Airport.
Why doesn't any other airfield suffer this craziness?

It does happen at other airfields! It's just that you take a particular interest in MAN. Unless you take the same amount of interest in other airports around the world then it's unlikely you'll ever hear about them.
