Wouldn't surprise me with the reliability of both JFK and ORD this year! Who would want to take the chance and fly on the above routes?
Although AA210/211 are still bookable at the minute.

The loss of 2 (one way) PIA flights a week to JFK wouldn't be a huge loss other than revenue from aircraft movements, but, let's not forget they planned to move the JFK stop a while back (to SNN) and it didn't materialise, so, we will have to wait and see with this Leipzig plan.

Emirates to use the A380 on the morning EK21/22 flight from 14-29th October inclusive, due to high forward bookings.
This is in addition to the permanent upgrade to the A380 from 1st January
All confirmed and bookable.

Stand 10 to be closed for 4 weeks to enable 2nd storey extension to the passenger lounge.
Reported elsewhere that AA MAN-JFK will be suspended Jan-Mar 2017
Going seasonal from Oct17 too. Bit of a run down in AA ops.
I expect the US carriers with their global networks have decided they can make more money elsewhere with those assets in the short term - fair enough. TCX and VS meanwhile are much more "eggs in one basket" with the UK/US market. Perhaps they are taking a longer term view and grabbing the opportunity to tighten their grip on the UK regions while UA/AA play with their toys in other markets ? Also TCX and VS don't have such significant networks elsewhere to redeploy their aircraft - especially TCX.
No doubt AA, like some others, will attempt to lay all the blame for these cuts on brexit. However I suspect a significant amount of damage to UA/AA's revenue has been brought on by themselves, by continuing to supply an outdated, poor value and at times hopelessly unreliable product to MAN and the rest of the UK regions. In doing so they left the door wide open for carriers like TCX and VS to come in and do it better or cheaper (in AA's case both !!). Even the much trumpeted arrival of the AA 787 on ORD this summer turned out to be an operational disaster, to the extent it had to be pulled earlier than planned and reverted to 767s (oh and by the way, the AA ORD is cancelled again today !!).
With better quality competition going west from VS, TCX, and soon SQ, it will be interesting to see just how long the AA/UA seasonality will be next summer for JFK, ORD and IAD. Longer term will they continue with the same business plan (skim the summer market with a cr@p product), rise to the competition, or simply disappear ?

Another issue Manchester airport has to seriously look at is traffic congestion. As someone who works at the airport, the time to get from T1 to T3 by road for example can at times take 15+ minutes! A distance of what, half a mile! Whoever devised the drop off area at T3 must have been about 12 yrs old with a crayon and blank bit of paper. Also those 'Traffic Marshalls' want to try stop standing around looking at the world going by and try to keep traffic flowing.
