MANCHESTER 1
Oops......
MAN is roughly 10?
DUB is 21 not including Westjet
EDI/GLA combined have quite a few too.
I'm just very surprised with 3 Canadian carriers expanding all over the rest of the UK and Ireland, most of which are smaller airports or have smaller catchments, or both, and yet they're reducing at MAN.

Great news as Puglia is a region that has been difficult to get to and hasn't been served previously. Really traditional part of Italy. Good to see Ryanair continuing it's expansion with exciting an new route from MAN.

Although this article is primarily about the status of the Northern Powerhouse, there are some interesting and valid references to MAN.

New Routes S2016.
Having been away for nearly 2 weeks, I'd be grateful if someone could just confirm where we stand on new short haul routes confirmed & bookable, and those announced or expected but not yet bookable. From what I've seen:
Ryanair: Bratislava; Brindisi; Malta.
Easyjet: Nantes.
Vueling: Alicante; Rome. Any news on Seville?
I've seen mention of 2 extra based a/c for Jet 2 but have any new routes been announced?
On long haul, good news about ShaheenAir. There was also mention a while back of a possible UA service to ORD. It did cross my mind, (purely idle speculation), whether at the time the NCL route may have been under serious review. If the route were dropped it would have provided a spare B757, but now UA has decided to return to NCL next summer that a/c availability may not be there.
Incidentally, our UA flights to and from EWR arrived 20 minutes early and on the return we went straight onto stand despite landing 20 minutes ahead of schedule. Processing at MAN was fine with check-in and security going out and at Border Control on the return. A very slight niggle with collection of bags with the first 20 or so cases arriving very quickly, including one of ours, and then having to wait 20-25 minutes for the main batch. (I assume first bags is one of the targets for handlers?). I appreciate it's not now peak season and Border Control might have been different if we'd arrived at T2 just after VS, SQ and QR, but nothing to complain about on our part.

New routes for S16
Shaheen to Islamabad
Thomson to Aruba
Thomas Cook to Los Angeles and Boston
Air Europa to Palma
Vueling to Alicante and Rome
Jet2 to Naples, Kraków and Girona
Ryanair to Brindisi, Malta and Bratislava
Technically Austrian and Easyjet to Vienna, Iberia to Madrid and Ryanair to Bremen were not operating last summer so new next summer.
Increased routes are Vueling to Barcelona, Ryanair to Barcelona, Palma, Alicante, Valencia, Warsaw, Rome, Milan. Easyjet increase by 2 based aircraft, Jet2 increase a few other routes and Thomas Cook increase a few long haul routes.
Rumours are CX increase by 4 flights, United to Chicago and more expansion from TCX expected.
So far, not a bad summer ahead.

The ACL slot report for W15 is out.
DHL are in there, operating 5 weekly B757F from 26th Oct. First public confirmation of them.
Interesting observations.
Swiss is down as using an A320 instead of F100.
Extra flybe aircraft based from 8th Feb. Interestingly, there is a note to say Flybe will add a new 2 daily route but have asked ACL not to disclose said route. Will be interesting to see where the route will be. Route will apparently start/be announced when new based aircraft arrives.
Iberia have asked for daily flights.
Nothing down for Volgar Dnepr/Air Bridge/air Cargo Logic or whatever they will files their slots as.
Interestingly, Aeroflot, Jetstar, Air Berlin and Fly Niki all registered as having confirmed seats and ATM's allocated this winter, which will obviously be one off charters.

With the utter turmoil in the Russian aviation sector at the moment I wonder how Volga/Airbridge are doing overall.

The President doesn't normally announce air treaties.

ACL Winter schedule report
If we think back to the release of the ACL Summer 2015 report it indicated a growth in available seats of just 1.3% over Summer 2014. Well, Summer 2015 is almost over and we have seen growth in passengers of around 5%, indicating strong load factors.
ACL says seats for Winter 2015/16 up by a whopping 9.7% over last winter. With load factors the way they are we could see some serious traffic growth ahead.
