Thanks Olton Pete. I must admit I don't have the time to check individual a/c types and flight configurations which is why I note the assumptions and qualify some numbers. I don't even attempt QR and EY. For example, if QR in Sep. was all A332s, then the LF was c 80%. If half the flights were A333s, it drops to around 74% and now we've got some B777s it's more complicated.

My overall impression for the ME3 was that the LF for EK was fine, less so for the other two, but Sep. may not be a typical month. Still, with a/c upgrades and talk of a 4th EK flight, I guess they must be satisfied with yields.

Yes, and I expect cargo is a vital ingredient for all 3 carriers.

There's a lot of work going on at MAN to accommodate the Chinese visit, stand reconfiguration on 204 to park a 747 'side on' with red carpet and all that jazz.

What aircraft are they arriving on?

B-2472 due at LHR today - several stories as to when it comes to MAN but Mr President goes home on Friday I think

Hopefully there will be some announcement about a MAN service during the visit...

Even the 'London' Telegraph managed a small comment in its Business section yesterday that the visit has been extended "from the usual 3 night stay to 4 in order to fit in a quick trip to Manchester". If the itinerary as previously reported is correct, it suggests he will have about 24 hours in Manchester, arriving Thursday evening and departing late Friday.

According to several Irish newspapers, Aer Lingus to announce Dublin-Manchester.

(It looks like they have mixed up Manchester with Murcia, as they announced DUB-MPL/MJV/PSA, and the news articles state the other 2 routes but not Murcia, instead writing Manchester, just thought it was funny Manchester being called a new route for Aer Lingus).

New route to PEK is indeed Hainan, we were wrong with Air China LAX ! They have a 787 due in MAN of Friday to advertise the announcement. I presume the 787 is the a/c to be used on the route, but only guessing at that.

Bloody Hainan. I hope they confirm flights this time, the saga with them has been a pain in the ass.

Who is going to be handling Hainan on the day?

May well be 2 routes announced..

"Chen Feng, chairman of the HNA Group, was also on the list, with the report from yicai.com saying that the group is planning on purchasing most of the stock rights of Manchester Airport. HNA Group refused to comment when reached by the Global Times on Monday, but an anonymous source with Hainan Airlines, which operates under parent company HNA, told the Global Times that the company will unveil new flight routes from China to the UK during Xi's visit"

Something lost in translation regarding the "stock rights"?
