The BA Embraer that you saw on the apron missed the LCY closure time yesterday lunchtime and arrived from ZRH. Presumably it positioned back to LCY this lunchtime when LCY re-opened.

You make a good point about the SEN operating hours and that won't change unfortunately as far as scheduling is concerned. At least now late running arrivals/departures can be accommodated with the increased night time fire coverage.

Just read the article which answers my earlier question. The airport have not yet signed an agreement with Air Kärnten pending their AOC acceptance which quite frankly makes total sense. Also get the impression from the article that they are waiting for the aircraft to be handed over the from Cimber.

Looking at the cso irish figures the dublin southend route has really plummeted in numbers since changing to flybe stobart have really let the routes sucess slip it appeared to be gaining numbers towards the end of the aer lingus regional run if they left the atr 42 on it it surely would have been profitable

Which ever way you look at it, those figures are desperately disappointing. I cannot see any of the Stobart schedules continuing except for Rennes and Dublin. The easyJet figures on some routes are also what I would have expected. The Dublin figures are truly shocking, just goes to show as I have said before someone at the top doesn´t know a thing about running an airline!

Whilst the passenger numbers are disappointing an airport is an asset to more businesses than just airlines. While Easyjet rule the airline roost with a highly uncompetitive sweetheart deal on fees other airlines won't come. However lots can be done to attract other users of the runway such as business aviation, flight training, cargo, aircraft dismantling. I've always maintained that SEN can only prosper with an all inclusive business strategy. Focusing purely on attracting a low cost carrier was doomed to failure. Hopefully the airport will now look at utilising all of the assets it has to the fullest possible extent.

For the route to Groningen, the load factor has been 40.2% in January, which is the lowest since the start of the route in June last year (it has been fluctuating between 40% and 60%). Total passenger numbers for the first eight months are 14,211, which is still on track to reach Stobart's stated target of 20,000 passengers in the first year.
The increase of frequency to 7 weekly flights has been widely advertised here in Groningen lately, which should hopefully lead to higher awareness of the route (many people still use the airports of Amsterdam or Bremen to fly to London).

Also not the greatest of comments here about GA at Southend http://www.pprune.org/private-flying...-southend.html and Biz jets movements don't seem to be improving either.
Southend can't be written off but it does seem to be suffering major problems while other London airports are all doing really well at the moment.

My first post so be gentle, IV had it confirmed this morn by easy that the Tenerife flights will operate out of Sen for the 2015/16 winter season, on sale end of March 2015, they also said they are constantly looking at expanding the route network out of Sen..good news I guess.

Wonder if the ultimate plan is to expand Southend by further shrinking Stansted or will Easyjet eventually play one airport off against the other to drive a better deal?
Of course they could just expand both airports in time but history is showing that easyjet's Southend expansion has come at the expense of Stansted.

Sorry to be a kill joy, but If i'm looking at the right post and reply on their facebook page, it looks very much like their standard reply to me. It does not confirm that the Tenerife flights will operate in W15/16, but in fact says that all flights are currently on sale until the 24 October, and that flights beyond October will be released in March/April time.
"Our current schedule is available until the 24th of October. We're planning to add flights beyond that date in March/April 2015, though we don't have any details of their routes yet."
Perhaps I'm reading this wrong, but the reply seems to be confirming when schedules are released across their SEN network and not that TFS will definitely go ahead next winter.

Perhaps Southenduser would like to confirm whether or not his was the enquiry in question on the EZY f/bk page. If so his post was inaccurate and misleading; not a good start to his PPRuNe membership.
