Whilst the passenger numbers are disappointing an airport is an asset to more businesses than just airlines. While Easyjet rule the airline roost with a highly uncompetitive sweetheart deal on fees other airlines won't come. However lots can be done to attract other users of the runway such as business aviation, flight training, cargo, aircraft dismantling. I've always maintained that SEN can only prosper with an all inclusive business strategy. Focusing purely on attracting a low cost carrier was doomed to failure. Hopefully the airport will now look at utilising all of the assets it has to the fullest possible extent.
