Well, as has been said on here before, IF in the coming months the routes work at STN and LCY for Flybe then good for them, if not they have a foot in the door at SEN who I'm sure would be all too happy to take on those routes.

I went over to the shops in the retail park this morning and happened to see the Stobart/Flybe arrival from Caen. It came in to stand 9 so I had a good view of it. Counted just 21 passengers disembarking which was disappointing. I do hope that as the year progresses numbers pick up or I can't see these flights continuing.

That's good news about attending Routes and i also understand LSA are attending the IATA Slots conference which is showing at Vancouver 23-25/6.
Seems the Management are definitely putting themselves about now and i hope they are successful in attracting some much needed new business.
With the high demand for popular slots at the London Airports and Southend not operating a slot system, they should have a big advantage in attracting customers who are unable to obtain the slots they require elsewhere providing of course their aircraft are capable of operating through here. This, added to the many benefits LSA can offer, must be advantageous.
Since it appears Greater Anglia/ Network Rail are still unwilling to provide an early morning service from Liverpool Street to connect to early flights, or a later one in the evening, i would hope that LSA can now announce the talked about operation of the Express Coach leaving Southend late evening after the last train departs- i think 2210 - to remain at Liverpool Street for the early departure to Southend in the morning.
Getting that sorted is essential if they want to attract airlines looking for early departures / late arrivals in order to compete with the other London Airports

The thing is though with potentially hundreds of pax needing this service, will one coach be enough? Nice to see Stobart are proactive though, and they have a coach so why not use it. Good idea! On the other hand could they not employ a coach company to run the service? It would have to be run at appropriate times and have the right capacity to satisfy any potential airlines.

Typos again
Looked at the attendees at Aberdeen for Routes On Line and yes SEN are there. Again there is a typo on the summary given for Southend.... Says "doubel" when it refers to Skyworks. Another example of whoever writes on the website for SEN needs to learn to spell, not very professional if your trying to sell the airport!

Fair Cop
I'll admit to that one. But I'm sitting on the sofa and not at work. Just like the potential operators will be at work. Petty I agree but.......... However, the sheer fact that they are attending can only be seen as a massive positive and I wish them every success.

I reply as a lifelong supporter of Southend Airport but, regardless of that, I have to agree with your observations regarding careless errors. There appears to be no quality control/proof reading in much of what Stobart's announce. To err is human, but there really is no room for error in this business. There has been a lack of professionalism in several other matters, which I fear will possibly not have portrayed them in the best light. For much of last year the Dublin route which was up to 3 flights in each direction daily, was listed in their 'Pocket Destinations Map & Guide' as being 3 flights a week! This error was pointed out on several occasions, but to no avail. The offending publication should have been withdrawn immediately, or at the very least amended, but no, it continued to be available to the public for months. How many passengers were lost due to this error, one can only guess.
I despaired when, some months ago on BBC News, Andrew Tinkler announced that the new routes to be operated in partnership with Flybe were to be flown by 'propeller aircraft'. I am convinced that had Alastair Welch still been there, he would have spoken of them as modern 'turbo-prop' or 'jet-prop' airliners. Regrettably, some members of the public still equate the notion of propeller planes as something only seen in a museum.
I will not go on about these things further, as unfortunately, my experience of communicating with other airports has also hardly been inspiring. I accept though, that it is easy being on the outside to feel that some things could be done differently. As for Southend, one is always very mindful of how Stobart's have saved the airport, but now having done that, sometimes let themselves down in other ways. Judging by some of the reports on this forum recently and other things I have heard, it does seem as though they may now be getting to grips with what needs to be done.

Read your post in amazement and laughed and the propeller aircraft bit!!! Why the needed to even mention the specific of the style of aircraft is incredible. They could have said state of the art aircraft or just operations by BE or EZY. That would have conveyed the message.
If they make stupid mistakes like this and are devoid of attention to detail , it didn't bode well from their other activities ...
All that said I was impressed by the facilities on the few occasions that I used it.
Looking at the success of EZY on the AMSin terms of pax numbers ( I know not any facts about the £/yield), I can't help but think their are other gems out there that EZY could replicate this type of success on ... Hopefully in the fullness of time when EZY get more ac they may just do their toe in the water ...

EI-BUD, Copenhagen is the obvious one that meets that profile - large inbound potential, shortest flight time of any of the London airports. Unfortunately rather than moving east it went west to LTN, which to the inbound market is about the least convenient
AirportPlanner1
Can you please explain your reasoning behind the statement that LTN is '' to the inbound market is about the least convenient''
Convenient for what ? Not everybody wants to visit London, there are other businesses outside that area.
