New routes are always welcome, My concern is that the Stewart Intl flights might eat into UA, DL and AA on there flights and we may loose them.
Think the flights to Providence and Hartford wont cause too much concern to the established US carriers.
Did a quick comparison online, Norwegian 19th to 26th Aug with baggage and meals is just over £615.00
Where as an indirect flight on United/Brussels Airlines via BRU to EWR is just over £336.

I'm pleased to see that so many people are making fare comparisons between Norwegian and other carriers and proving that Norwegian are not as cheap as they make out they are.

LoCo airlines use computerised algorithms to manage fares. The more people are looking, the higher the fares go. The fares should settle down to a more competitive level once the initial hype dies down. For the dates I looked at in September it was well over £100 cheaper to fly DL to JFK using SkyScanner than DY to SWF and DL may have better seat pitch (DY haven't published their seat plans for the 73max yet AFAIK).
In the past, I've often found it several hundreds of pounds per person cheaper (well over £1,000 for the family) to fly to the USA via AMS than flying from EDI via JFK, EWR, ORD or YYZ. DY is already making fares to the USA from EDI much more competitive which, in turn, should increase the market size. Interesting times.

I think some of the posters here are looking at this the wrong way round. If I was DY I would look to maximise US originating traffic (chance of better yield due exchange rates) and while we might not fancy arriving in US late evening, US originating pax will probably have their cars at the airport and not have a problem arriving in the evening and then driving home ( which will be unlikely to be down town New York). The same applies to the other DY US destinations so I predict that providing fuel prices stay low, these flights will be successful and with a high proportion of US originating pax.

Having fought my way through Norwegian's website, it appears that all their European flights except Oslo have disappeared after October. Copenhagen, Stockholm, Malaga, Tenerife, all gone. Are Norwegian really cosying up to Ryanair and dropping routes on which they compete?

They've released Oslo, which as an intercity route will tend to be booked at shorter notice than routes like Tenerife which would have a longer horizon. But they may just have suspended bookings while they rethink the schedule. We'll see.

OSL is now showing as operating by EDI based for winter, and as the second based aircraft won't be needed for transatlantic in winter it's clear a reshuffle of the schedule is on the cards.

Norwegian marketing is very much internet driven, they have just released Rhodes from LGW starting June, they'll be full for sure.
Rest assured there will be a plan in place that goes well into 2018, they have a net increase of 17 new 737's in the first half of 17 plus 9'dream liners

A regular direct link to Orlando is arguably one of the biggest gaps in EDI's route network so I don't think it will be too long until that is plugged. Personally I think DY is one of the most likely to offer this service.
