Ryanair seems to chop and change Luton routes every year so nothing new there.
It is more like a regional base found at Birmingham, East Mids and Bristol, where they offer multiple destinations, but are only served 2-4 times a week. I doubt we have anything to worry about and just Ryanair re-organising the deckchairs on the Titanic.
If anything once the expansion is completed, they might want to grow at Luton, especially as the airline has a good relationship with AENA in Spain and all the expansion we have seen in recent years at Alicante, Barcelona and Madrid.

Not brilliant timings on the single daily rotation by FR. It wouldn't surprise me if even that doesn't last long.
I contacted easyJet about the CPH route and they say "Sadly the LTN-CPH flights are set & we don't plan to change it yet"
Interesting they say "yet" which may mean nothing of course but may mean CPH may return to their LTN schedule in the future?

MAG Group
I can not be the only person in this forum that remembers that the operator of Manchester Airport namely MAG once refused to and stated publicly it would not 'prostitute' itself to the demands of Ryanair demanding low airport costs.
With various routes now being cancelled at Luton and transferred to Stansted instead, would it not be in the best of interests for Luton Airport management to NOT extend any Ryanair operations from Luton once their current contract has expired?
It is of my personal view that the management of Luton should rid Ryanair once and for all. They are predators!
Wages for UK airport workers are low because Ryanair seeks only to increase the pockets of it's management- People need to understand that Ryanair is a 'foreign airline' subsidized by low taxes in Ireland and at the detriment of British workers!

The Ryanair booking engine is still showing four daily rotations right up until March 2018, I fully appreciate the schedule that far in-advance is subject to change.

From their own website. Random dates searched in September, one daily departure at18.55 returning at 22.15. As mentioned already on this thread, they're moving 3 flights a day to STN.

Ryanair ends 3 out of 4 daily flights on the 25th March, same day as easyJet, and the other 1 daily rotation continues from 27th March. Interestingly Sunday 26th March is showing no service at all.

Lee Baker Street:
While I understand your argument, what makes you think Wizz Air would be any different? They are also a low cost carrier so presumably pursuing a similar deal.
I think that in the world we live today, pretty much every airport dances to the LCC tune to a greater or lesser extent (with the possible exceptions of LHR, LGW & MAN or similar that have a decent traffic mix.)

Yesterdays (Thursday) flight which landed around 3pm. Seems strange for them to have a Thursday flight but no Friday flight which won't help passenger numbers. They have three flights a week on Thursdays Sundays and Mondays so is aimed at just the leisure market.

Paxing All Over The World
I agre that if FR were not doing what they do - someone else would. That might be Wizz or another. Equally, many complain anout Amazon but, if they did not exist - another companyh would and they would have the same business practices. It is human nature.

There was another head on collision in the tunnel this morning when a BMW crossed the double white lines just inside the tunnel as the car was leaving the airport.
The tunnel was completely blocked for around 25 minutes until the closed section of tunnel that will soon become the exit route of the dual carriageway was opened up for alternate single file traffic.
Fortunately the builders haven't started work on this section of the duel carriageway yet but 2 hours after the incident traffic is still queuing to get into the airport.

The Volvo destroying the Easyjet bus must be one of the most impressive things i've ever seen. Although i'm sure the owner returning from their holiday was far from amused. How did the Beamer get on?
The crash in the tunnel also dropped the airfield firefighting service level down to level 5, as access to the airfield was restricted for external fire cover.
For info, A320's require level 6 (but can downgrade to level 4 for temp downgrades). The 777's require level 9.

It only took a couple of minutes for the traffic to be backed up past the Ibis with coach and shuttle bus passengers eventually abandoning their vehicles to walk to the terminal.
When I was leaving the road was still blocked with a builders long nose forklift contemplating lifting the BMW out of the way.
