Not quite the case at LGW... up to 4 hr arrival slot restrictions due to flow rate reduced to between 12 and 15 arrivals an hour for most of the day as a result of the fog. As such EZY8704 TFS-LGW operated to LTN with customers continuing to LGW by coach.

Seems that not everyone is a fan of Signature's new FBO

I have been having a good look at Signature's ramps and infrastructure since their new building opened. No sign yet of the North West Corner being returned to pure ramp. While their portocabins have been shut down they are still using their compound there as a car park. Counting up the spare car park spaces around their building and the spaces in their car park behind the fuel farm there is not enough spaces to handle all the cars parked on the NW corner so I am wondering whether the NW corner will be returned to pure ramp or left as a car park?

No signs yet of the mini tower being removed so maybe it is staying after all despite the drawings that had shown its removal.

The satellite view shows their new HQ very well and the biz jets that are still using the Pond despite the airport showing 4 aircraft stands for use by the terminal. My question is when the airport need the stands for their use where are the biz jets going to park or will Signature have to reduce their operation out of Luton?

I have read in a staff news paper that a planning application for the mass transit system will go in during February with a start date later on in the year.
Seems that not everyone is a fan of Signature's new FBO
The people I have had contact with at Signature are all dedicated people of the highest order and their new FBO is something for the staff to be proud of. I actually think it is quite stunning.

Tow out out of the hangar the night before if LVPs are forecast then charge for deicing! Now a blast screen! You couldn't make it up! Word I have is the mini tower is too expensive to move and now used by Sig Ops.

In hindsight maybe Sig would have been better keeping the Gulfsteam hangar but at the time they still had the 3 hangars around their operation.

The new Signature hangar by cargo only has around 10 car parking spaces which is much less than what Gulfstream needed plus the hangar does not have any office space while the Gulfstream hangar has plenty.

Plans for Century park semi released this morning. Interestingly the quote from the website says that the road to the business park 'will run to century park from a new roundabout on the A1081, and around the northern and eastern perimeter of London Luton Airport'

Where exactly can they plan on putting a new roundabout in on the approach to the airport and without destroying several industrial units build a new road around the north of the site?

Well I can't see a natural route. The last idea I saw was the use of Percival Way and then President Way which is behind the cargo terminal. The soil samples taken followed a route from there.

I will be interested to see where the new Wigmore Park is going to be seeing that it will remain inside the borough of Luton. With the mention of a green corridor a shrunken park is more likely.

No as the ground is well below the airport but Wigmore Park could be and is part of its own Enterprize zone.

Does anyone one know when the hotel opposite the Ibis being built will be finished and what hotel it will be?

I am travelling to the airport in August and just wanted to know what parts of the redevelopment will be complete by August?

The hotel is going up at lighting speed and I would expect it to be open for the summer. I haven't heard who will operate it but it will be another budget hotel.

As for the redevelopment, I am thinking Whitemountain, who are the contractor for the new road layout and short term car park, won't be finished until the end of May at the earliest. This opinion is based on observations over the last 18 months on what they achieve in any given month and the size of their meagre workforce, as their list of outstanding work is still massive.

As for the terminal the only projects I can see being completed by August are a few more bars and shops in the existing departure lounge. With the Duty Free Shop moving last year the retail space in the existing terminal will be larger than 2015 and certainly 2016 when half the units were shut down.

Oh and Piers A's infill, which is already completed and of course all the floors to the multistory car park will be finished soon.

Ibis comes in three versions, Ibis, Ibis Style. and Ibis Budget. Looking at a planning application amendment the new hotel will be part of the Ibis Budget chain bringing a second Ibis hotel to the airport.

Is this the first signs of the start of phase 2 with the regrading of the grass for an extension of the Pond which can be seen under the wing of the Alaska Airlines 737? Plans show the Pond having a total of 4 stands.

Work on digging out the embankment for the duel carriageway has been completed for the exit route with top soil now going in.

Outside the CTA not much has happened to the duel carriageway for weeks apart from drainage being put in.

The construction of two extra bus bays and the raising of the ground continues.

Work has started on the final section of the link building and the first part of Pier B. The new service road has been all but completed with new road markings going in this week.
