I can't see why EZY can't do more flights from euro-based aircraft. Cities that are bases like the upcoming Amsterdam base, Paris, Hamburg, Milan, with other new routes including Naples and Basel, and especially those with multi-daily flights.
Milan isnt double daily, so although an increase to Rome could be likely I dont think we could see it go much above that.
Any new gaps found for based aircraft could be used to strengthen the summer schedule - maybe with the discussed possible further movements from Stansted.

Ryanair have dropped all their Canary Island routes from Luton, with the exception of Lanzarote that remains twice weekly...
Would be good to see Monarch or easyJet step in and pick up the Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura routes.
Monarch will be flying 3x weekly to Lanzarote, as well as 4x weekly to Tenerife this winter.
I am guessing the schedule for Ryanair this winter is being reduced at Luton, as not seen any increases on existing routes and nothing new is showing. Even though they only base four aircraft at the airport, Luton has done pretty well and hasn't seen its winter schedule reduced in previous years like other UK bases until now.
To be fair the Canary Island routes have been cut back from most UK bases Ryanair have, this winter too.

Quite a few random little liners this week I noticed by observation of passing through. Air Europa 737 late the other night, Fokker 50 which may have been for the Luton Antwerp game. Spanish ATR72, NEOS 737 and Elal's all over the place. Was I mistaken or did I see some British Airways planes also?

Several diversions in recent days - ex-LGW, LHR, STN - mainly FR, EZY & BA.
Air Europa was a Monarch sub-charter. Also Carpatair F100, Livingston A320 and Adria CRJ.

No , not mistaken.
The Air Europa was on a delayed Monarch flight, the Fokker 50 was for the footie , the Spanish ATR went out to Kerry. Not sure about the NEOS but was probably for the Rome Charters along with a Carpatair F100.
All that and with the weather related diversions and the hole in the STN runway quite a few diversions!
Sorry LGS looks like we crossed

More charter flights on arrivals board this evening.
Adria from Trieste at 18.20 and Carpatair from Geneva at 19.40.
All good business and adds to the variety.
Anyone know the reason for these flights as all different routes.

Gran Canaria & Fuerteventura must surely be routes which are ripe for take over from Ryanair by another carrier?
Both Monarch & easyJet have plenty of flexibility in their winter schedules so perhaps one of them will take these on before too long.
Does the fact Ryanair are quitting these routes mean they are reducing capacity at Luton or could new routes or frequencies be added? I'm surprised, given how popular it is, that Dublin isn't at least 4x daily?

Monarch have certainly tried both before and lost their shirt. No-one wants to pay a reasonable fare for a 4 1/2 hour trip in the winter apparently, at least not to FUE and LPA.

I dare say Ryanair will re-instate the Canaries for S15. Ryanair has said they will release S15 in mid-September, some 3 months earlier than last year so not too long to wait and see.

IOM service
Haha. If only!!!
Seriously though, I wonder if there's any chance easyJet or so someone else, question is who, might eventually pick up this route?
With all IOM flights ex London these days coming out of LCY or LGW, perhaps there's room for another service?

Said it before, My opinion is It's ripe for a whole new little prop airline to be formed and run IOM, Aranns ex Ireland routes and Jersey. Easier said then done, But the amount of airlines that have been started with absolutely awful plans and ideas that has to be a half decent shout for success.

A big ask for a new airline to set up from scratch just to operate these kind of routes.
Whilst it's possible to find merits in routes like IOM, JER, WAT, GCI....... surely any real chance of these routes returning to Luton are with existing operators at some point, perhaps the likes of BMI Regional, Cityjet or even easyJet (to IOM & JER) could be tempted to try if they felt conditions were right?

Nah not Euroceltic, Fokker 27's eh.. with one of them crashing. They were formed at the wrong time, 9/11 and wanted to be based in Waterford not Luton. Also ran domestic Irish routes. Not really a great comparison at all.
