Did hear that LBC can borrow money more cheaply than the airport and that the money will be paid back over 25 years.
What is hard to comprehend is that the CTA road network, cores, passenger bridges, short term car park and drop off zone are not even finished yet but will all require to be either replaced, modified or supplemented. It is a real shame that the rail route and station were not planned for before the design of the CTA was laid out and started. It is clear that several million pounds will have been spent on the existing reconstruction project that will have a life span of maybe 2 - 4 years.

Each train can will carry between 150 and 225 passengers depending if 2 or 3 car carriages are used.

With the easyJet summer schedule released Toulouse has been loaded for S17 but Tenerife, Lanzarote & Copenhagen have not! I don't understand why the Canary services would be dropped or would just be winter seasonal!

Since a lot of the eastern Med and north Africa became too dangerous, the Canaries are more popular with the Brits than ever - any services being cut from the UK would be a surprise.

Looking at the aerial photo of the airport development it is obvious that with the location of the MSCP that another 8 pack will be built on the current short term car park in the future (Even the location of the link to Taxiway Foxtrot lines up perfectly).
There is no way I can envisage another MSCP going in on that land and putting in obstacles to the south stands.
Thanks to all for posting the info on the rail link, very interesting.
Maybe that was the reason we didn't see glass in the footbridges and got the cheap version as they knew it wouldn't stay for long- or am I giving them too much credit.
Looks like ESU finishes next year as well with EZY, not bookable for summer.
That along with CPH not looking like operating must give them scope for new routes.
Real mystery why the Canaries routes don't appear to be year round.

Out of all of the new routes, Toulouse should be the one getting the axe, 20 pax pet flights most days apart from Fridays and Sundays!
Essaouria was always a strange one, but it was performing well considering, I guess with people not travelling to Africa passengers numbers have gone down.
I can't believe easyJet have given up on Copenhagen so easily to Ryanair but I guess they will always win a price war!
It will be interesting to learn of some new routes if these services are being cut.

With Craiova getting another plane being based we will see more flights. It will now be daily compared to this summers 5 flights.

National Express have brought into service this week a new fleet of 5 double-decker coaches for their flagship A1 route between London and Luton Airport with each coach carrying up to 79 passengers. These new coaches will supplement the existing fleet due to high demand and is the only route operated by National Express that will use these coaches. As well as being a double-decker the coaches are longer than their standard coach so they overhang the airports bus bays.
National Express withdrew all its double-deckers after a fatal incident on the M25/M40 slip road in January 2007, caused by a speeding driver.
National Express now operates 217 services a day from Luton, only Heathrow also with over 200 services a day has a higher airport service in the UK.

About a year ago, National Express responded to increased demand on their coach route between central London and Stansted by opening routes from different parts of London to Stansted.
Why have National Express chosen to increase number of seats per coach rather than open routes to different areas of London for their Luton service ?

I'm not sure what scale the OS Election Map is, but the OS Explorer Map (1:25000) clearly shows that a small portion of the proposed route to the south and east of the runway is within Central Bedfordshire. The border runs to the east of the A1081 from the south, and then crosses the road where it intersects the River Lea. Both mini-roundabouts on the B653 are within Central Beds., before the boundary rejoins the A1081, this time on the western side, and then crosses back over this road before the airport spur. It then heads south of east towards Someries Castle.

From the house I watched it land a few minutes early and watched it depart later than scheduled!
I was surprised how quiet it was climbing out.
I wish the airline well and look forward to the new airlines yet to come to Luton.
