Cheers Pete - does seem very confusing.

I'm not complaining, much prefer travelling on a 757 than a 737. Hopefully if it stays that way it wont be a full flight and we can travel in comfort!

Regards

Matt

EI Winter

EI DUB flights for winter are x5 daily (x6 Sun, x4 Sat). Think it was largely x4 last winter.

Aer Lingus

EI-A330-300

Cheers for the heads-up, I was wondering whether it would change.

I would say very similar seat wise to last winter, maybe slightly down.

EI262 was Mon - Sat so up as Sunday is shown but no idea why as it couldn't fill an AT72 let alone an A320. Will this operate?

EI3264 was daily last winter - no change

EI272/3272 daily and a similar split between the ATR & Airbus

EI3274 daily ex Saturday - the same

EI276 - Sunday - Friday & 3276 on a Saturday - same

EI278/9 - Thursday and Friday until New Year then March therefore down as not bookable at all

EI3278 - Sunday & Thursday/Friday in January and February

Pete

Hadn't realized it's more less same!

As for 262 will have to wait until mid summer, in past years final schedules including times tend not to be out until July. Did it operate any of last winter?

It is only a matter of time before Luton start to push away the corporate operators too, probably to Farnborough, Cambridge, Bournemouth. Again signs of this already
It has already started, there have been several corporate jets drop their pax off at Luton recently and then position out to BHX for long term parking due to a reduction of parking at Luton and higher parking fees at Luton.

From December 23rd Wizzair add a third weekly flight to it's Sofia schedule.
It is also showing as all 3 flights on A321 from this date.

Strong forward bookings, response to Ryanair,or maybe both?!

Hmm, I would have said that BHX are not exactly blessed with ample parking space for corporate jets either.

Ryanair/Wizz

Ryanair have brought forward their Sofia like they have at Glasgow.

6th September three times a week Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday and Wizz when they go three a week are also Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.

Still time for one of them to change I suppose.

Monarch Ibiza restarts to night and Thomson number 6 starts tomorrow.

The only disappointing news is flybe with no extra aircraft to accommodate Nantes and Rennes with the morning Hanover making way until September at least.

Wizz Bucharest starts Sunday.

Sadly looks that way.

The article in Airports of the World with Mr Keehoe last month perhaps gave a hint.

He said the flight timings were not the best and they were trying to negotiate with the Chinese authorities to try and improve them.

The planned service was also trumpeted as a schedule for both British and Chinese Tourists.

However weeks after the announcement I could not find any sites or booking agents in the UK online selling them to British tourists.

A huge blow if true BHX had announced them with a fanfare.

No doubt Hainan to Manchester 4 times a week at good timings well advertised would hardly of helped.

I guess the express sh!t happens comes to mind.

I was watching BBC World this morning; they were talking to the boss of Eurostar this morning, and he said that inbound tourism from USA and Far East was down - justifying their 3% fall in passenger numbers. I guess that, and the Hainan service to MAN has conspired to kill the BHX operation off - I can pretty well guarantee that a MAN poster who's handle commences "bag" will be laughing his socks off.

Ce la vie!

Oops!

Well that is bad news about China and unfortunate egg on faces all round in Diamond House. PK and team have done a sterling job in attracting new airlines and routes but I was worried when these were press released as scheduled flights when they were clearly charters and got even more worried when I saw the flight times.....oh well onwards and upwards, we still have a very good summer 2016 to look forward to. With Hainan already rumoured to go daily next yr and also rumoured flights from MAN to Shanghai and X'ian it might be a while before more China flights at BHX

Morning Atnotts

I'm not quote sure why I would be "laughing my head off".

I'm afraid to say, airports like any other business are in competition but I seriously doubt this loss to Birmingham will have them putting up the bunting up here.

It's a brutal world and Manchester "might" be next !

Unfortunately the behomoth which is Heathrow means every secondary airport which has long haul services feels as though it's only one economic storm away from losing them.

Increased oil prices
Ukraine
The Middle East
Dare I say even US China relations.

True I'm not remotely interested in Birmingham but I think directing your ire at yours truly is somewhat misplaced!

I think your time on here might be better invested focusing on other issues.

Its good to know we have kudos on a par with London in your neck of the woods but cancellation of the bhx flights will not make an iota difference to Manchester. It really won't.

Sorry, my comment was meant in jest - sometimes an emoji might be useful!

As you say the real elephant in the room is Heathrow, and if the balance between "cheap seats" and front end isn't right MAN might equally find itself under the microscope - assuming of course that Hainan are there to make a profit, not to do the bidding of the Chinese government.

Perhaps those in Diamond House would be better employed processing airline ID card applications than chasing pipe dreams . Some airlines are having to bring in crew from other bases due to the tardiness of Birmingham airport.

tubby linton, do the same team who are "chasing pipe dreams" ie the Route Development team process ID cards? If you're going to criticise, at least construct a valid post and state some relevant facts. There are numerous departments within Diamond House...
