June pax
The June punctuality stats are out listing the number of rotations along with the actual pax figures. The first full month of the flybe base and probably too early to judge but I would have expected them to be a bit better. Edinburgh states Loganair alongside Cityjet- is that right?
Cardiff for June- Rotations and pax figures from the CAA
CDG......2027.....61....52% based on 118 seats 33 flights
DUS.......305.....38.....49% based on 78 seats
ORK.......341.....43.....36% based on 118 seats
DUB......7608....47.....55% based on 72 seats WX/STK and 118 BE
MXP.......346....38.....33% based on 118 seats
FAO......1992....83.....70% based on 118 seats
BHD......3739....63.....80% based on 78 seats
EDI.......7584....48.....??% based on 72 seats WX/STK & it says Loganair?
GLA......2006....63.....53% based on 118 seats
JER.......1633....62.....53% based on 118 seats
Non-flybe
PMI.......1252...125....70%
AGP.......4159...160....89%
BCN.......2470...154....86%
ALC.......4352...167....93%
AMS.....10744....62....72% - Estimated - using 2 x F70 & 1 x 190.
Any corrections welcome as I don't follow Cardiff that closely.

July Pax Flybe
Last week I posted these provisional CAA figures for Flybe at CWL on another website. I did so with the caveat that they were compiled on the basis that all flights operated and the timetable was as originally published when Flybe announced the base last March.
If I've got anything wrong I would be very pleased to be corrected.
Paris Cdg 3378 passengers, average load 93.8, load factor just under 79.5%.
Cork 572, 71.5, 60.5%
Edinburgh 5634, 90.9, 77%
Faro 2030, 78.1, 66.2%
Glasgow 2522, 70, 59.4%
Milan (MXP) 598, 74.8, 63.4%
All the above were on the 118-seat E 195.
Dusseldorf 359, 44.9, 57.6% (Q 400) - 8% fewer passengers than in July 2014
Belfast City 4032, 65, 83.3% (Q 400) - 1% fewer passengers than in July 2014
Jersey 1917 passengers, average load 73.7. This route sees a mix of aircraft: E 195 on Mondays and Fridays and Q 400 on Saturdays.
Dublin competes with EIR so I couldn't establish the Flybe numbers. However, overall passenger numbers rose from 6289 in July 2014 to 9262 in July this year so Flybe must have had a significant effect.
The stats seem to me to be very encouraging, although of course it's the y word (yield) that will, as always, determine ultimate success or failure. What does seem clear at least is that people are recognising the existence of these routes and are using them.

I've used the CDG route and aircraft was pretty full, in fact a lot fuller than the old Cityjet service to ORY.
CDG is the preferred Paris Airport notably with connections etc.....especially with AF.
The rest of the load factors are looking pretty good too.....still wondering what's going to happen with the 2nd based aircraft as to whether or not there will be any new routes added.

Pretty full is not much of an indication on completeness of load. Its either full or it is not !

Maybe the head counters of these forums need to get in contact with the bean counters from the Airlines and compare figures.
Why have CWL forums turned into journey logs of people that can count up to 189?

How punctual have the Flybe Düsseldorf to Cardiff flights been?I`m planning a trip to Wales from Germany where i live at the end of September.I usually use KLM from Amsterdam to Cardiff (or Bristol as it`s cheaper than Cardiff) and they have never let me down .It`s a bit of a trek for me to get to Amsterdam and Düsseldorf would be much closer and i would very much like to try this route.I`m a bit concerned about punctuality as i have a bit of a tight schedule that weekend and Flybe does have a bit of a reputation.I realise on a particular day anything is possible with any airline but maybe someone can give me a general idea before i book. Thanks

The following link contains the previous flight arrivals. Just click on the relevant date at the bottom of the screen for the historic arrivals. The Dusseldorf flight arrived five minutes early yesterday:-

Flybe
The second based 195 for Cardiff left BHX early this afternoon in readiness for the morning.
A much better departure board tomorrow than it has been for a while with Munich joining Dusseldorf, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey, CDG.
Morton1234
The past DUS flight was operated from the BHX base Saturday only service and up until this week the time-keeping was average as BHX had aircraft and crewing issues on the Q400 and 175.
However it seems the weekday flights will now be operated by the Cardiff base on the 195 and hopefully a lot better.
There is a Friday afternoon 195 flight now if you can't risk the Saturday Q400 flight.

Interesting read in some of the local news papers in Bristol that APD devolved to Wales could cost Bristol Airport and its economy 1 million passengers and £854 million. This is the number of Welsh passengers flying from Bristol. So Bristol Airport attracting Welsh passengers is costing the Welsh economy £854 million then. At least the Welsh Assembly have realised this and are trying to rebuild Cardiff Airport.
If Cardiff had closed it would then have cost the Welsh Econmy £1.8 billion from Cardiff's highest passenger figures of 2.2 million when BMI baby operated there. Good news at the moment is that Flybe seem to be doing well with cheap flights ie Millan £80 return at Cardiff whereas BMI regional at Bristol is £125.

Dubai
CWL will get a taste of DXB services with Thomson in winter 16/17.
According to a poster on another forum there will be three fights to DXB.
DUBAI NAMED AS NEW HOME PORT FOR THOMSON CELEBRATION CRUISE SHIP - TUITravel Media Centre - Thomson

Just as a clarification, the flights will be to DWC, not DXB.
Neos and TUIfly also operate to DWC.
Although just 3 charters, these will be the first ever passenger flights from the UK to DWC.

Wow that's quite a funky unusual destination for CWL and great to see a new "exotic" destination on the departure board and even better CWL got this over BRS too !!!
May not be a regular service and just 1 a month or whatever it is but still good news. Would that be on the 787, 767 or 757 as expect too far for the 738.
