Bmibaby319 please re read my post. I have not said the route would be unpopular I have said it would be the only one I could see not being replaced with a Dash 8 should Flybe find a better way of disposing of the jets within the 10 years. Nothing mentioned about the commercial viability of the routes themselves.

What's the chances of having YYZ return ex CWL ???
Now that was always a popular destination with very high liads back in the days when Air Transat and Zoom operated there.
With all the "good news" happening Im hopeful YYZ will reappear soon

CWL management are going to have to work hard to encourage locals to fly on some if the Flybe routes, even with plenty of marketing from Flybe. Perhaps now is the time to focus on ensuring their newly announced set of routes has some healthy loads and lasts more than a year instead of trying for yet another holiday route ?

Canada is literally a "dying market" - the main traffic on routes between the UK regions and YYZ was always visiting friends and relatives. Those relatives are dying out, and because of this the demand for YYZ services has diminished. This is why the only non London routes to YYZ are now BHX / NCL / GLA and EDI. NCL, LBA, EXT and STN have all lost their service. BHX is clinging on by it's fingertips.

I can see no place for YYZ out of CWL.
Canadian Affair (Air Transat) pretty much have the market covered on the non flag carrier side and since they were the main support for airlines like Zoom I do not see any rush of new services anywhere unless someone like Westjet decide to get involved.
The market may not be growing but it certainly isn't dying!

I know cheaper prices generally increases demand, but will a difference of £1.10 *really* make a difference in whether a significant number of passengers choose to fly from Cardiff or Bristol ?
If this is a factor, we're probably looking at people flying at unprofitable air fares and who put a very low price on the value of their time.

Flybe Cork
Hi there,
Just a query on the new Flybe service to Cork. Just looking at the schedule for Sept and the route operates on Sat morning and Tues afternoon which I would have thought was a bit out for leisure weekend break travellers. Air Wales used to offer a Fri evening and Sun evening schedule which was good fit. Just wondering if there's an opportunity for a review for the W15/16 schedule?
There's also good synergy potential between CWL and ORK.Cork doesn't currently have routes to Dusseldorf , or Winter services to Milan and a limited Munich service, so could be opportunity to offer the Flybe shuttle service to one of these destinations with CWL potentially benefitting from transitting passengers and splitting loads between two points of departure? ie. CWL-ORK-CWL-DUS-CWL.
Any thoughts on above?

Routes & schedules are under review all the time and maybe flights to destination x maybe reduced and increased ti destination y.
In regards to ORK-CWL-DUS doesn't really work because Cardiff is the base. If Cork/Dusseldorf was the base then certainly it would be as for many years GLA-CWL-CDG operated and for one season prior to that BHD-CWL-CDG.

Cheers, looks like Cityjet are going head to head with Flybe then on the Paris & Edinburgh routes, good on them after all they did step in after Flybe axed the routes !!
ATR 72 much better than the ATR 42 and more seats, shame Flybe don't open two different destinations and leave Cityjet alone on these 2.
