All above recent posts. I can't really be bothered reading all of the 321 posts of hot air.

According to SWAG, a TOM 752 is due in from BHX this evening. What is this aircraft for ? I haven't seen news anywhere that CWL's 752 has been re-instated for the current Summer ?

Does anyone have any info on the following flight that's on the arrivals/departures board for 17th May ?
AP6251 PMI-CWL @ 11:50
AP6252 CWL-PMI @ 12:50
It's stating Air One, but they ceased ops back in 2014.
Is this meant to be the regular flight operated by AlbaStar ?
AP6251 PMI-CWL @ 11:50
AP6252 CWL-PMI @ 12:50

Flybe - LCY
There seems to be considerable hype on Social Media platforms at the moment regarding CWL-LCY with BE, with what sounds like quite a popular route in the making, despite its initial difficulties.
Even though it's not starting for some considerable time yet there seems to be a large takeup throughout both the leisure and business community, coupled with the fact that CWL believe that this route will remain if the temporary operation is successful.

The route is there predominately to serve the business market, which will not book until the last 8 or so weeks before departure. The number of bookings will only be a handful at the minute (which should be expected at this stage) and is no basis to say whether the route will be a success or not. Flybe will be making no money selling tickets at £70 rtn and needs passengers to be paying a much higher price in the closing weeks before departure (a bit of revenue management 101 for you there...)
I am sure this route will do okay for the short period of time it operates. Many seem to see this as the airline "showing its dedication" to Cardiff, however personally I see it is a quick gimmick for Flybe to monopolise on the negative press generated by the Severn Tunnel closure - which, fair play, is a clever idea. Passengers will try it as an experience, but in the long term the route can not compete with the train (particularly once the line is electrified).
People are really reading into this route than they should be and this thread is turning into a bit of a joke seemingly lead by one individual...

I see the Ed-Force B747-400 if Air Atlanta is returning to CWL direct from JNB next week.....that's a fair distance flight direct to CWL.
Nice to see something different on the arrivals board....

These are private charters and have noting to do with Newmarket Holidays.
Aircraft operated to Olbia on a charter. Returned yesterday to operate a private charter to Parma today. The aircraft then returns from Olbia today bringing back the clients from mid-week and then positions out empty.

That's a loss for CWL unless FR will take up the route. CWL need to be careful about putting all their eggs in one basket with BE. Don't get me wrong BE seem to be doing well but they are going to 1 x daily for the winter.

Flybe will introduce a double daily return to DUB from
CWL for the winter. Hopefully they will codeshare with aer lingus on the route to allow for interlining to the USA. I agree that CWL have to be careful to not put all their eggs in one basket.

It is a relatively big loss, but its hardly anything in terms of capacity. There was never going to be enough room for both EIR and BE on the route, just hopefully BE will stick around and make things work. Things do seem to be on the up generally.
Positively, the airport has today announced that this May saw a 27% passenger rise on last May, with figures beating that of last June !
Also, reported elsewhere the VY A321 will be visiting CWL on some BCN rotations come August, so there must be pretty decent demand on the service for this to be subbed in (also noting that there will also be one A319 rotation).
VY Summer 2017 is and has been on sale for some time, and ALC is now showing as 5x weekly throughout July, although not bookable yet. BCN will go 4x weekly throughout the whole Summer season, as will AGP, and PMI will begin from April as was the case this year, but I believe that also has periods where its 4x weekly.
When VY first started out at CWL there were many who said that it would not last 5 minutes, it's now lasted 4 going onto 5 years, and they are ever expanding here. Next Summer will see around 17 flights per week from CWL providing things stay how they are, and I can only imagine that they are taking a few passengers from across the bridge too, as are BE with some of the recent loads that I've heard.
With regard to BE their Jersey service may pick up a little from CWL since Blue Islands have became a BE Franchise, with seemingly all of the Blue Islands benefits diminished, like free baggage etc. with the BE product, which some people have been moaning about is too expensive due to the smaller aircraft. There is a good amount of hope for CWL yet !!!
