They were interested before, in 2006 but turned away because they wanted to expand elsewhere first. However, now that they have expanded elsewhere, they would like to return to CWL as they had once achieved a high yield and high load factor.
FR LGW
Will be interesting to see how the TFS flights go against Easyjet !!!

The new base will be in England from what I hear
-London Gatwick (high cost and EZY dominated)
-Manchester (despite MOLs comments that MAN is so high cost?)
-Newcastle ??
-Cardiff (based on comments here that this may happen, cant see it!)
-London Southend (could 738s operate with reduced numbers? and given that FR have lashed out at EZY for flying to 'nowhere')
Any comments??

No secret that MOL says what he needs to say to win over locals all over the place. I'm sure MAN and SEN are still future prospects in his mind. I think he wold love to go up against EZY at SEN and show them they mean business and they should go packing back to STN.
Anyway, who knows!

REUS to close in/after October
The local press have been pushing this hard recently though I first saw it mentioned above on this thread about a month ago I guess.
Ryanair has accused the Catalan authorities of "breaking their word" which does remind me of pots and kettles !
M O´L´s sidekick Cawley(?) [the one without the charm !] was on the ground locally on Wednesday berating all and sundry.
Both sides say the existing legal agreement to subsidise Ryanair at Reus supports their position but as the current terms "are confidential", nobody knows for certain.
For some reason, the locals have got it into their minds that negotiating with the "Irish" guys is like a cross between "giving in to blackmailers" and a "wild west shoot-out."
As a local taxpayer, my only question is why it took the allegedly hard headed Catalans about 6 or 7 years to notice what should have been as plain as the nose on their face from day one ?

Crewmeal,
But I still repreat my question about the runway - both at CVT and SEN. Surely this is a big factor? I'm sure SAB is cheap, but we know MOL won't be going there!
It's got to be Coventry. The fees there will be next to nothing. A shack for a terminal, no duty free facilities, car parking on the cheap. What more could FR want?
Yes, apart from the tents at JED, I think CVT is the ultimate Ryanairport. But retail outlet still needed if PSC is next to zero! And even MOL will look at yields - costs, and I don't think any of us know what deal he got at BHX or when it expires. But I still repreat my question about the runway - both at CVT and SEN. delta, I could tell you for FACT it is Coventry, but what credibility would I, or anyone else have to mkae you believe me?
Speculation is half the fun, as Airbus know only too well, nothing matters until the deal is done.

Well im putting my money on LGW, Head to Head with the charters and Easyjet
on all the Holiday routes, It seem to be the direction Ryanair are heading ...
This could be very good for the Holiday flight market as Ryanair are normaly alot cheaper on flights than the charter Airlines and Easyjet and depending on slots there times are much better.

Personally, I am putting my money on Cardiff (CWL) as the management there will currently pay as little as need be to attract new airlines with the fall in PAX numbers from last year. However, if this doesn't happen, they will go to SEN as previously said, to compete with Easyjet and show them that they mean business. Wales is currently the ideal place for a Loco carrier as BMI BABY are due to leave at the end of the summer...

Where is the serious money going to be earned in air transport in the UK next year? London! My money is on the south east, and if it is to be an airport that they already use, then Gatwick.
But retail outlet still needed if PSC is next to zero!
Thomson didn't have any problems with the runway there, but not sure about the performance of a 733 v 738. Maybe the Canaries are out of range.

Ok, So now its out there, MAN, How many A/C and What destinations ?
I would think ACE, FUE, LPA, AGP, CFU, RAK, MLA and LDY as these are
a mix of holiday destinations and Easyjet routes.
A London route would nice,
