United Airlines Wikipedia

Looks like someone has put in wiki that United are starting to go to Newark from the 20th January 2015, I've had a look all over and can't find anything to back it up

...even the start date was the giveaway, when the rest of the UE EWR 757 network is decimated over the weak winter months..

I've heard these rumours again over the last month or so that a service will start end of may 2015

As we keep saying until the route goes on sale..........

Oh dear god no! Kudos to you all though I think it's been at least two months we have gone without anyone mentioning New York!

The thread will soon descend into anarchy and chaos now that we've found out there will be no New York flights!
However, on a slightly more hilarious note I over heard a 'spotter' talking about how EK are rumored to be starting an evening flight as EK37/8 because of the pax increase and cargo increase. No prizes for guessing who that was.

Also Atlas Air 767, is due in at 1205 today 20/06/14

Second EK DXB - Well if you look at the fact that passenger numbers are mirroring GLA performance then a second daily will be on the cards eventually but not at the moment I guess, plus 037/8 are numbers used on BHX services!

Hasn't GLA always carried proportionately more pax since start even prior to the upgrade sequence ?

This WHOLE thread is becoming an embarrassment, seemingly populated by an ever greater percentage of "Reggies"!
Guys have a trip over to spotters corner !
Ooooh so 2 77W's on the ground tomorrow? Shall be heading up there after my exam.
& as for those that "get off" on the sight of two EK777's then it is more than clear which thread that they should be posting,
Get a life !, or arrange a trip to DXB & certainly DON'T get too excited as to any rumours of NCL-NYC!

News from NCL

Quite agree!
What's happening at an airport is just as relevant as the numbers and how they're achieved.

OK - Some good points and figures to back up, but maybe the post needs to move on and be more than a "Spotters forum" (Sometimes we get lost in the grey area!")
New York does seem to fire up emotions whenever mentioned, although very unlikely to happen as long as airlines across the pond are all members of alliances connecting via other hubs (CDG,AMS,LHR,DUB etc...)
Anyone tried to book United using their booking tool from NCL to NYC (EWR/JFK/LGA)? Cheapest fare is over £3,500 on their website connecting via DUB in October-

No wonder they see no demand from NCL if they rely on this info to gauge demand - Guess they just want to feed existing routes (but won't at those prices)

Other routes from NCL via LHR, AMS are more expensive. American bookable at £555 via LHR using BA.

VG's example.

Hard to understand that United pricing. I've just checked same dates into JFK using EI and its popping up at £543 return.

Out of Newcastle at 8.30 and in New York by 13.20

That price seems a little too high

My return ticket from Taipei to Newcastle via Dubai (then NCL - DXB - TPE) is only £902 ...

Yes, Agree you can book connecting flights with other operators, and much better connections than United example - But if you try to book on United's own website the minimum fare is as quoted £3,564 (with terrible connections) then upwards in price from there! - Point being if United rely on Their own system to gauge demand from NCL, they'll never fly direct.

Try it yourself: https://www.united.com/web/en-US/def...4D8F73B3A40691

Only meant to be a final point before moving on from the NYC discussion!!

FR24 states BA1338 is being operated by OY-NCT Sun Air Dornier 328 Jet this evening landing at NCL late at 22:38
History of OYNCT on FR24 show some odd flights (Newcastle on more than 10 occasions, Singapore-LHR) surely this can't be correct
