Is that actually extra flights, or just previously cancelled one's being reinstated?

BA 1322/1323

It will be an extra rotation using the currently unused 1322/1323 flight number putting us up to seven a day from the usual six.

Looks odd. Inbound aircraft would be on ground for about 7 hrs before returning to LHR. Have I read this incorrectly?

I see again ,one of the new A321 is working out of Manchester. It happened last week too and returned on Sun day morning. Is this just until the summer schedule is fully ramped up ? i cant see if its been replaced with another aircraft or is NCL down to 2 aircraft mid-week

TCX still due two more A321's due in the coming days. NCL doesn't require 3 A/C every day this early in the season so the NCL aircraft are covering.

Anyone any idea what OR7611 (ArkeFly) to Calgary is doing on the departure board for tomorrow morning?

Few missed approaches and aircraft holding atm at NCL due to severe electrical storm passing over the area ! Some amazing bolts of lightning streaking over the airport

At a guess the Arkefly is a MoD charter.

Yeah MOD. Monarch have done a few recently, and there's been an Atlas Air 763 in a couple of times in the last few weeks from Dallas?
Kuwait Air Force C17 was a nice visitor last weekend.

Anyone tried the new lounge yet, worth paying for?

The seats should be rolled out across the whole terminal

Is the Jet2 appeal in the North East on the Wane? Are TCX/TOM/EZY winning the battle for customers in what is a fairly limited market?

Jet 2

So looks like less flights with smaller aircraft. Extra 733? not unless extra routes coming.

JET 2....

Thats a net loss of 4 flights a week so far. I'm not surprised at Alicante with so much competition on the route. Maybe there is scope for some new routes using the 4 rotations in hand.

Well it's a third summer of reduced holiday capacity by the looks of it. I had thought if anything we'd see an increase from LS with route like LCA, ZTH, KGS not being sold...

It looks as though NCL is supporting too many carriers with simply too much capacity for the amount of people wanting to travel. Prices this year seem to be higher than last year so this could be a sign that we're closer to where we should be...

Jet 2

Of course if Pisa, Venice & Krakow are not on the schedule for next summer, that would be a loss of 10 flights per week. They are on sale from some other bases but not yet from NCL. hopefully they will be loaded soon.

Has anyone heard anymore if there really is an extra 733 coming for 2015. There would have to be some additional routes and or frequency increases for that to happen.

If the above routes do not happen then there could be one 733 less.

What is supposed to happen is -2 752's, +2 738's +1 733, so increase of 1... I am hoping this is incorrect, still sceptical but we'll see, suppose EMA and GLA lost their 757's.

"It's the economy, stupid!"

Bit of context before we get more comments about airlines "lack of commitment" to NCL.

While the rest of the UK celebrates a positive set of unemployment figures, the situation for the North East is not so rosy.

The region is the only part of the UK to see a rise in the unemployment rate over the past quarter - and indeed the past year

I think everyone is aware that the NE is the weakest part in the UK, in fact, a recent report in the Guardian (IIRC) compared it to Detroit, which I thought a bit harsh.
MME has no future as a passenger airport, so NCL needs to get those passengers up the road and spend their money here instead of going down to LBA and MAN.
Given how low prices can be from MAN however, it is a difficult fight to win...
