Thomson 767's

Hello

Just wondering if anyone knows what config G-OBYG/H are in currently?

Noticed they have been operating a lot of long haul services but last time I checked both planes were in a short haul config?

Anyone also have any info on how Thomson are managing the 787's e.g. What aircraft they plan on using to replace them?

Thanks
ZJC

Fleet News

Here is the fleet news for Thomson:

A321
G-OOPE has now been withdrawn from use. This now means that the Thomson Fleet is now an All Boeing Fleet.

Boeing 737
G-TAWP is due at Manchester on 12th April 2013
G-TAWR is due at Manchester on 16th April 2013

Boeing 757
G-OOBI has now been withdrawn from use
G-OOBJ has now been withdrawn from use
G-OOBR has now been withdrawn from use
(This also answers Scandic's question about which 757's FedEx have acquired)

Boeing 767
G-OOAN has now been withdrawn from use
G-OBYD is due to be withdrawn from use but because of the delays of the Boeing 787 it is currently still in the fleet
G-DBLA is due to be withdrawn from use but because of the delays of the Boeing 787 it is currently still in the fleet
G-PJLO is due to be withdrawn from use but because of the delays of the Boeing 787 it is currently still in the fleet
A Jetairfly 767 is to be leased to Thomson because of the delay of the Boeing 787's.

Boeing 787
The Boeing 787's have been delayed until most likely at least July. However the Boeing 787 is due to go back into service shortly and three of their Boeing 787's, G-TUIA, G-TUIB and G-TUIC are now fully assembled and painted so when the Boeing 787's resume flying it will not be long at all until Thomson will receive theirs.

Hello

I have noticed that G-OBYG/H have already been operating long haul services however I was under the impression these were fitted out in the short haul config.

Do we know if this is the case or have they been re-fitted?

Also, do we know if the JetAirFly 767 is going to be used on long haul or short haul flights as Thomson are still saying passengers will get 33" leg room however the JetAirFly 767 doesn't offer this amount of leg room through the entire cabin.

Any news on which planes will be covering long haul for the 787's in July/August?

Thanks

ZJC

Grrr

They 'might' receive the Dreamliners in July, but will they have automatic ETOPS approval - that is the question?

Time is running short for them to complete the flight training and testing for July however.

I do believe Thomson stated they need 2 months before launch to test the aircraft with crews etc.

That means they need to get the aircraft 1st of May to be ready for 1st July flights which is highly unlikely especially since they have yet to complete any flight tests on the aircraft at Evert and they need to apply the battery fix.

Exactly how I feel was very much looking forward to flying on the Dreamliner and the thought of getting subbed onto a JetAirFly 767 makes me worry!

Same here considering JAF 767 doesn't have IFE or as much leg room. Surely TOM will have to refund passengers some money if they do get that as that isn't what they paid for?

On thomsons blog they are saying that all passengers will still get 33"leg room and IFE but I have known them before to promise this and not get it

The JAF 767 will operate short haul ex Manchester which will free up a TOM 767 to operate long haul.

YG is back at 283 with a premium cabin, can't speak for YH but expect it's the same.

Whilst Boeing continue to strive to contain the problem rather than identify the root cause of the problem, I'll take a short haul or JetAir B763 over a Dreamliner anyday in the near future.

Hi

Thanks for confirming that information pamann.

It looks as if G-OBYH is only used as Stand By at moment haven't seen it flying for a couple of days now so im guessing it must be the stand by one at the moment.

Glad to hear YG is back in long haul config, I have a feeling this may be the one I end up on instead of the 787.

Which Jetairfly B763 is with TOM UK now? I though the Belgians were planning to take a 787 as well, so won't they be seriously short of capacity?

I presume also the plan to send G-OBYD to Arkefly as PH-OYD has been shelved until the 787's arrive?

Does anyone know which of the Thomas 767's are in long haul config now?

Noticed YF is back in the UK and had 5 days out, anyone know if it's been refitted back to long haul?

Would be nice to know which ones they have re converted back.

it's not one dedicated JAF B763, it will be a mix of OO-TUC and OO-JAP and both are in 257 config (so same as the First Choice 258)

The summer standby B763 is SE-RFS.....in 328 seat config.

The ex thomson 767's have been in long haul config since the end of October, as they have been operating planned long haul. Thomson does not plan the use of scheduled long haul with short haul configured aircraft.
They predominantly work out of the scandanavian countries in the winter so are in a very slight different configuration with the back cabin having 8 more seats in it(1 row) but both the forward and middle cabins are the same as Thomson Airways long haul config.

Not sure why you think or who told you they are in short haul config.

Clipstone

The JAF aircraft is not the same as the ex-FCA configuration it doesn't have a large premium cabin at the front it's an all economy layout.

Yes Jetairfly B767s have 105 seats in Confort Class 33-34inches (front Cabin) with 152 seats in Economy Class 30-32inches.
