Last summer SE-RFS operated a normal short-haul flying programme out of MAN, no reason to think this year will be any different.

Kevin TCX's 767s are in this configuration, I wonder if they are subleasing one
The TCX 767's are AB-CDEF-GH. They all have a rather busy flying programme from MAN too...

What's the latest estimate for 787 start-up @ TOM? This summer? I realise things can change based on certification, etc.

Cheers

The FAA say they will release final certification tomorrow 24/04, the 4 TOM 787 fully built just need fix installed & test flights before delivery, still working on July for introduction on Long Haul but as 4 a/c being delivered now close together the final flight & Cabin Crew training can be completed quicker, they still plan to run them on a number of short haul routes to accru pilot hours/sectors to allow ETOPS L/H operations, once FAA give final go ahead tomorrow TOM will know delivery dates from Boeing! Boeing currently have 30 teams worldwide starting the installation of fix as well as teams at their plant so it may not be that long before they arrive in UK ......

As Thomson has a no smoking policy on its aircraft it will probably be a 767

You and me both i'm due to go on the 4th July. I think it'll all be down to how long Thomson need it before sending it on long haul as they have to use it on short haul / flight training first. The boeing CEO said a few hours ago that deliveries will commence early May and that they have started installing the fix on 10 fleet & 9 production aircraft. Switching to a 767 will definitely be a last resort as it will cost them money to refund people who paid the supplement. As of such i'm sure they'd do all they could to get them ready in time.

If you look on this website scroll down to the colourful embedded spreadsheet ) it mentions every 787 and the current status ( not sure how often it's updated but it has changed this week )

http://nyc787.********.co.uk/

Whilst this website shows daily pictures from Paine Field - Everett where the Thomson 787's are based. When they're taking off for test flights i'm sure it'll show on here.

Well, I know crew at Thomson, and they are all checked out and ready for the first 787 to arrive. So short haul supernumary flights will commence staright away then presumably I would say three-four weeks after delivery it should be starting L/H operations, so fingers crossed we will see the dreamliner flying over our skies soon

The battery fix has not been embodied on any of the TUI a/c.
Boeing is going to modify them in delivery order, so a long way to go yet.
Also it is not just the battery fix, other modifications are taking place at the same time.
My guess is a late May or early June delivery.

I thought Thomson's were going to use there own aircraft for the new Leeds-Bradford based operation this summer?
Well it looks like a last minute change of plan has been made as flights are now showing as been operated by Canadian Airline, Sunwing.
