It could be that the Dreamliner is back in the air in a couple of weeks however surely the 50 aircraft already delivered to airlines would become a priority to getting back in the air.

Then you surely would have to take into consideration how far down the line are the Thomson deliveries in the backlog as I believe they have to complete test flights before delivery.

Then you have to take into consideration that training flights would also take place initially with no passengers on board before they can then introduce them on the shorthaul routes as they initially desired before introducing them on to the longer sectors.

Assuming the plans of introduction into service by Thomson remain the same then one could only imagine that you would have to wait for first delivery to the airline before you can truly estimate when the first revenue flight will actually operate.

Maybe because it is a waste of money, as they will be leaving in the next few years.
OOAN is on a end of lease check at MAN.

I think Thomson ought to review the 767 fleet painting, in light of the open ended delay to the 787. Think the new livery would help revamp/modernise least the outside image for Thomson.

Grrr

I am told that two Thomson -300s have had their leases extended to cover for the battery fiasco?

Make the most of the 75's now cos they'll all soon be gone, top aircraft and a very reliable one too.

757's

SCANDIC

"Have OOBJ/OOBI gone now"

Both are at BHX and have flown this week.

These aircraft show on flightradar24 so they can't hide.

You can still view "BR" on FR24 operating its last flights SOF-BHX and then off to Shannon the next day (10/03/2013).

I don't think you'll find Allegiant agreeing with you with regard to their 6 ex-TOM machines.....

There's a thread on Airliners.net about Allegiant's reliability issues with the 757. The concensus seems to be that they have a very small fleet operating long-ish sectors, so they don't have a/c backups everywhere to get over problems as they occur. Also, they're finding ETOPS routes to Hawaii dictate a far higher level of serviceability than mainland USA op's.

It's not necessarily the aircraft that's the problem but how they're using them.

odd that problems were limited with TOM yet recurrent with Allegiant. I see a pattern emerging. Allegiants MD's were equally problematic.

Remember First Choice is still a large travel company in it's own right so the advertisement from their current livery won't do them much harm.

The 757 has served Thomson so well and with them inheriting the First Choice 757s, they have some of the younger 757s produced. The 738 seems to be Thomsons replacement aircraft for short haul, but it doesnt hold a candle to the 757s capacity and range.

Must say the new Thomson colours look really neat on the 75's and 76's, not a big fan of 737's.
