New Leases and Refit

Just brought back G-OOBP from AUH. The aircraft is a lease aircraft, Previous user was Air Berlin. Its been fitted inside with Galleys that are more or less identical to the Ex-TOM 757s. Its fitted with 235 Seats. Had a new paint job.

Most of the TOM aircrafts are going to AUH for major matinence work. G-BYAI is due next to go. however this A/C is leaving the fleet soon.

Hope it helps.

Can someone please explain why today's Thomson service from Leeds to TFS (B738) went via Faro (as did the TCX A320 service) because of high crosswinds?
The winds at the time were about 26020KT using rwy 32. Is it to do with a reduced TORA which in turn reduced the max allowed t/o weight?!

Thanks!

I cmae back from Corfu on it a few years back, i thought that it was about the same age as OOOX. Its a shame that first choice colour scheme is disappearing.

Is there a reason why Thomson and it's partner companies aren't removing their customers from Tunisia?

Thomas Cook are doing so and seeing some of the pictures on BBC website I can see why...

They have been doing today as well as having a flight yesterday among the Thomas Cook services. What makes you think they wouldn't be?

Check the Thomson website it states it on there.

...
  • TOM 959 - Landed in Glasgow at 1850
  • TOM 937 - Landed in Birmingham at 1435
  • TOM 965 - Landed in Manchester 1440
  • TOM 918 - Landed in Manchester at 1820
  • TOM 902 - Landed in Gatwick at 1440
  • TOM 943 - Departing Enfidha - estimated to arrive in Manchester at 0015 (16 January)
  • TOM 924 - Departing Enfidha - estimated to arrive in East Midlands at 0210 (16 January)

Thomson Tunisia

I am sure they would have got pax back yesterday if they could
rather than causing the disruption to services today, which at BHX
has been really bad (two out the three based 757's over 7 hours late).

Yesterday they had a 757 sitting around doing nothing at BHX
but today all three are required resulting in long delays and
the Alicante getting coached to East Mids.

I am sure they would have operated yesterday if they could have
but with such chaotic scenes in Tunisia I would imagine it would
Have been difficult for all European airlines to operate on the same day.

Thi was a statement made early Friday.
Tui Travel said it was in continual contact with its 1,500 customers, of whom a majority had so far opted to continue their holidays. Up to 5,000 UK tourists are estimated to be in Tunisia in total.
So you can see they made the decision not to bring them home on Friday as TCX had done.
They made the decision Friday afternoon/evening to bring them home, they had already cancelled Sundays flights out, as had TCX before hand.

Thanks Cabincrewe. Yes, a long way in a 737 (presumably -800 and even that will be at its limits). Not looking forward to it quite so much now - was hoping it would be 757

The 757's and 737's are essentially identical inside though, just one slightly longer than the other! If you'd have said 767 then I would've understood

Inside they're the same but for any budding aviation enthusiast, or even admirer of the jet plane must love that noise and sense of sheer power that can be experienced in a 757.

I certainly do. Truly amazing aircraft. Boeing and Rolls Royce at their best.
