Silverjet confirm second New York flight start date
UK all business class airline has set a date for the start of a second daily return service between Luton Airport and New York. The airline had been set to launch the second flight in July, but delayed it in order to use the new plane to operate the current single service and the airline's launch Boeing 767 completed a standard 18 monthly maintenance service.
The new flights will begin on September 23. The carrier's first daily flight from Luton will depart at 10:00 and arrive at 13:00 local time. The return flight from New York Newark will depart at 19:30 and arrive at Luton at 07:20 the following morning. The second flight will depart Luton at 16:45 and land in New York at 19:45 with the return departing Newark at 21:45 and arriving in London at 09:45.
Confirmation of the second daily frequency came as the airline issued passenger and traffic statistics for August, which showed an 80% load factor based on 4,654 seats sold out of an available 5,800. The airline achieved a 76% on-time departure record.
