All depends on the build standard, normaly an upper and lower wing plank, internal structure, re-rig of flaps and airlerons. On the classics, more structure work. The B757 takes about 18 days and 4000 ish man-hours

Cheers,

Just had a look at the APB site. Very interesting.

Now I get why they're not on the 75 and 76... yet!

Will "OD" be available to operate the first few weeks of the MOD contract or does it's lease start early October, in doing so ruling it out?
I ask this because the previous posts look all well and good for the B767 operation up to the end of the year, but l am more than 50% certain that "FG" has a cat in hells chance of making the start of the contract.

Mr @ Spotty M

Why the delay with "FG"? PM me if you don't feel it appropriate to publish on open forum.

Ops will juggle the aircraft around.

I must say I don't think these aircraft have been so well maintained in their history since they left ANZ, now that MON have taken over the engineering. Excellent service, guys.

....at least you are starting in the South Atlantic spring....a serviceable aircraft will unfortunately not guard you against the vagaries of the "4 seasons in one day" weather that can be experienced at any time of year in MPN!

Another factor I encountered on one of my trips "down South" (as a pax, with flying experience) was being stuck overnight in ASI, because the TAF did not predict conditions better than non-precision minima for an immediate return should that be necessary (.....not too many other airfields close by!)

So a (Scottish) minister of defense (Des Browne) awards a Scottish company (Flyglobespam) a MOD contract at a time when NuLabour is trying to fight a rear guard action against the SNP and with a by-election coming up in Mr Brown's (PM) back yard..............maybe the Flyglobespam were the cheapest/best value, it will come back to haunt them

Sun headlines June 2009

150 of Britains Bravest seconds away from death after engine failure on take off with airline fined thousands by the CAA for flying aircraft illegally

Talk about is it a bird or a plane!! what are they a holiday company, charter airline, LoCo................ or an ACMI operation.....meanwhile the good folk of Scotland still think going direct means via BFS/DUB/LPL That'll be Scotlands favourite airline.

Tin hat on for company gob****e reply from Globespamer

Facelookbovard

Why do you even bother posting its obvious you don't like GSM. Why don't you just p*ss off to your Jet3 (sorry easily mixed up) forum.

Surely you know that GSM is a holiday airline its pretty obvious now unless
your completly thick.

You have a cheek to talk though i mean is Jet3 a charter/loco or holiday airline? I seem to remebers that they followed into GSM'S footsteps by offering package deals which GSM did from the very start and anyway Jet3holidays don't offer holidays on every route they offer unlike GSM i mean what is that.

As for your comment on the 763, im sure the jealousy will pass that Jet3 have crap 20 year old 737-300's and 752's.
Whilst GSM 752 is only 12 years old and have 763's operating Long-haul (all jet3 have is 4 dates to Newark WHO CARES) and GSM have 787's on order and getting rid of all the old 737's!

GLOBESPANER, if you think "FG" is ready now for MPN, it is no wonder that you were fined by the CAA.
"FG" is currently sitting in MAEL hangar 127 at Luton, half way into its "C" check, minus the No.1 engine which has been rejected.
So if you think it's ready now, you are living in cloud cuckoo land.
If it leaves on time it will be flying off to another maintenance organisation to have a fitting repaired or replaced by a possible Boeing working party taking anything from 2 to 3 weeks by them, plus access time before they get on with the job.
So l am sorry to say, that you can see "FG" is anything but ready for MPN.

Right you orrible lot.......

Firstly facelookbovvered it was not Des Browne who awarded Globespan with the contract it was Chapman Freeborn so get your fact straight. That Sun quote you made up gazing into your crystal or should l say hairy balls is nothing short of scandalous and you should take that back.

Mr @ Spotty M, you obviously are in the know at Luton but please quips like that to the ops boy Globespaner are uncalled for, unprofessional and quite frankly spotterish, so what if FG is not ready, end of the day Globespan know when there contract starts and will plan accordingly whether is FG, PT or OD!!!!!

Fed up of people coming on the site and posting drivel.

Good day...

Sorry Deeko01, if l got your back up, but if someone and l quote from GLOBESPANER "FG is ready now to go to MPN! Just been is for its C check so its all tickety boo." is posted as fact, it gets my Goat.
Now if he had posted he believed it had just come off a "C" check and therefore should be ready for the MPN series, l would have posted differently.

Well done Mod!!! Couldn't have put it better myself. (Always amazies me how a mod is just round the corner ready to pounce on the bad boys and girls in the play ground!!!)

I (And I think a lot of others) are fed up with the muck throwing....... As SLF it worries me a little that some of these folk are in charge of planes or generally looking after them. Hope they are more sensible in their day jobs ;-)

Lets try and get back on to the subject folks!!!!

Back to my earlier question, any idea why the GLA-SFB flight has ran so late, I see it departed GLA around 10pm

:-(

Not sure if related, but DUB-YYC-YVR is being operated today by the B752, with the BRS-YHM operating with a B738.
