Journalists are renown for "sexing up" quoted statements to get more readers, to get reactions, I know i use to be one !!

The way its written in ACN does look like its a done deal, but as with the posting a week or so ago. why is nothing confirmed by BAWC in print, not just interviewed comments, there is yet again nothing concrete written here, and having something concrete is what everyone here is looking for whether you are from Manston or Stansted.

To remind us all out here, the only people that do know what really is going on and going to happen, is the airlines executives...

Here is the quote

However, when asked, Jude Winstanley, manager network and freighters, BAWC, told Air Cargo News: “We are a long way through negotiations for a move to Manston. It has been a complex tender process but it is close to an end. However, the final decision has not been approved yet.”

When he was asked for the reasons for the move Winstanley said: “A key consideration is price, but we also look at operational aspects, quality of service, availability of the right slots, congestion, handling and the linkage including trucking.

“Stansted has been our home for some time but Manston offers great benefits.”

Journalists on Air Cargo News "sexing up" comments, now that's very, very funny I could understand that remark if the article had appeared in the Sun or Star . . . . but Air Cargo News!!!???
What is interesting is that it's the first time that they've publicly admitted to being involved in negotiations about a possible move to Manston and more importantly that “Stansted has been our home for some time but Manston offers great benefits.”
There's also the other things he mentions all of which Manston can provide in abundance. It may not yet be a done deal but it must be very close, we may find out next week - good luck

Sounds like a 'done deal' to me just awaiting signing off.
Congratulations to MSE if it happens as it could well result in additional freight business coming their way in the future.

You are right it certainly made interesting reading from a BAWC manager and for it to be publically printed in a well known freight newspaper aswell.

For all the postings that are on here, i see they have all come from guys/people in Manston area, I know its the Manston thread, but there has been nothing on the Stansted page at all. Is stansted keeping really tight-lipped or are they totally in the dark that BAWC are planning such a venture.

If all this info is widely available, there must be something from someone at STN, i would like to read what they have to say

I'm interested in the "benefits" of Manston. It certainly isn't closer to the Midlands and I doubt that Stansted is likely to go bust in the next couple of years. I know that the government is considering tighter night-time restrictions on the London airports. Could there be something in the pipeline? Otherwise, I think that Manston must be offering an incredible deal to get them to even consider moving. If this is the case we are left to wonder if Manston will make any money out of this.

I bet it has everything to do with money for Infratil! They are not in the business just to provide jobs for locals, but to make money.

I hope the rumours are true and Manston can begin to find its place as a heavy freight airport.

If they don't catch this one, well, I'm sure there's plenty more fish in the sea. Manston will catch on at some stage.

Well I can't see Infratil giving up easily, they seem to be commited to trying (although others will argue otherwise).

I can't imagine we're any more likely to hear the reasons for them not coming than to hear the mystical reasons for supposedly being interested in the first place.
