London, baby!
bmibaby announce new route from Belfast City Airport
Flights to London Stansted Airport commence on 28 March 2011
Low cost airline bmibaby has today (16 December 2010) announced a new route from George Best Belfast City Airport to London Stansted Airport. The new service will commence on 28 March 2011 and bmibaby will be the only airline to operate this route.
Flights to London Stansted will operate three times a day from Monday to Friday, with one service on Sunday. Fares start from just £23.99 one way including taxes.
I guess that this will be a based aircraft looking at the flight times on bmibaby website, have they got more aircraft coming or is this unit from elsewhere?
They certainly seem to be making a splash at BHD,i can't see Easyjet being impressed at all?

Well there you are, I have to say well done to BHD management, they have reinstated everything lost (apart from Prestwick) all within a couple of months, given the fingers up to FR (which aint a bad thing), maybe upset BE (slightly, however it is all clear now why).
On the other hand BFS, pathetic.
EZY are very quiet!!!

Easyjet don't have the airframes, crews or interest in domestic services from NI. BFS were on the case trying to get a MAN service going but to no avail. That said, they'll probably huff now with BHD and pull the LTN back to BFS using the same lame timings .

The timings for Stansted also now allow for Cardiff to be operated year round, rather than winter only.
Based aircraft to operate:
BHD - STN - BHD - CWL - BHD - STN - BHD - STN - BHD

Brilliant news for BHD. Didn't really see that one comming. Though looking at the timetable there are no flights to Stansted.... i know Sat isnt that bust but surley at least a morning rotation would have been good? Is it just going to sit there all day? Or do you think they may do a holiday flight once weekly on a Sat?

Looks like aircraft will do a saturday morning BHD-CWL and then return CWL-BHD on sunday...thereby providing more capacity into Cardiff base to operate summer sun flights on peak day 6.
If it wasn't for the fact that bmibaby's aircraft have artificially low weights and down rated engines I'm sure they could've considered doing similar spanish stuff on saturday direct from BHD..

Haven't heard it myself but believe the BBC are reporting that one of the fire vehicles has frozen solid in the station and as a result they are unable to maintain their cover.
