HH6702 - can't see Newcastle loosing EZY. If EMA is going as a base and nothing is confirmed this is probs down to the competition from FR and WW. With LS practically on its bare bones in terms of routes from NCL now they don't have the competition that they have at EMA.
Having said that with the economy going down hill quicker that Gordon Browns popularity I would expect further reductions this winter from EZY. The disposable income just aint in the ecomony at the moment.

there are strong rumours going around lately involving EZY going airbus at NCL between jan and oct 2009, i have heard it on a number of times, by people in well connected areas
EZY were allegedly looking to accelerate the withdrawal of the 737's due to the economic situation, as a single type fleet would be cheaper to operate - this would obviously mean the remaining 737 bases (such as NCL) converting to A.319's earlier (or...)

TOM NAP had an engine problem, and an engineer was flown out from LGW. Crew went out of hours, and IBZ was operated by B767-300 YJ, ferried up from MAN after MAN-CFU-MAN yesterday.

Flybe
Have just returned today from Aberdeen on my first trip there with Flybe. Outbound Friday 25 passengers, return today 32 passengers. Cabin staff felt this route may cease.

Transwede, How is Jersey doing ?
Last Tues NCL-JER 54 pax Today JER-NCL 50 pax, about 70%/68% LF on the Q 400. Expected the Sunday service to be more but its not peak season yet. Met a colleague who did the Sat service on the Emb 195 he thought it was about 70% full from NCL- JER.
Of course this is just a snapshot of the situation and it will vary considerably. Its supposed to be a year round service but cant see it staying at 4X weekly in the winter.

I was on this flight on Saturday. We didn't board the aircraft until around 10am due to the late arrival of the flight from Cancun. Once we boarded we were told that the door of the aircraft had been damaged and that photographs of the damage to the door had been sent to HQ and to airbus for investigation. After been on the aircraft for two hours, we were given the go-ahead thankfully! When arriving in Sanford we had to wait a further 30 minutes due to no gates being available - had to wait for the monarch flight to leave. The 12 hours of being on the aircraft went quicker than I would have imagined!

FR used to service Bergamo - but recently dropped the route, I suspect that they haven't taken it off that part of the web. Loads were alledgedly quite good, although maybe yields were low and so they took decision to drop it.

If I remember rightly the Bergamo flights ceased around the time Bergamo Manchester started. Ryanair don't really rate Newcastle airport as a worthwhile proposition. Shame really. Even in these times of economic gloom there would be money to be made. Daily would be unviable but three times a week would probably hit the spot. The same could be said for Madrid, Frankfurt Hahn and possibly Valencia.
We can live in hope but don't hold your breath.

Yes, something is happening.
It is still early days but retirement was never an option for the ex Manager.
