Grrr

I am told that Luton will be rather busy (and Stansted) in the 2 days leading up to the opening ceremony, around key dates during the Olympic Games and the day after the closing. Long term parking will take place a few junctions north along the M1.

They could use one of the airports old busses to get the crew back.

Crews missed flights this morning with queues all the way back past the Ibis again. Maybe easyJet will offer to put crews up in the Holiday Inn at peak times.

An additional drop off area has been built and should open very soon. (see photo on page 209). I have still to see any jams in the morning. Maybe I am just lucky.

Long term parking for Jets I assume (Cranfield?). Crews are not going to get any accomodation around Luton at this late stage.

Marrakech

Looks like Ryanair are reducing the Marrakech service down to twice weekly from this winter... Due to them not getting the deal they want from the Moroccan Airport authorities...

Ryanair Announces Reductions In Services To Morocco As Onda?

I think it is currently flying five times weekly, so might see a route pop up, to replace it?

As a commentator said, if Ryanair lost all their subsidies, they might not make a profit.

Correct!

Huge increase in airspace capacity, but so far the demand is just not there. Blackbushe have 1 movement booked in for the duration of the Games allegedly? Dunsfold have given notice to the ATCOs recently employed to make the airfield licensed as they have no bookings.

Whilst I know things can change with 3 weeks to go, there would have to be a significant increase in demand against that shown already.

Never mind, there is always the Typhoones to look forward to!

currently only 40% of the available slots in london tma have been taken up-however, past olympics and world cups have had a huge surge in bookings in the last two weeks and the NATS ATC planners are assuming this pattern will be repeated in the UK.

Interesting, I can understand World Cup as fans and sponsors progress through the rounds, but the Olympic Games, you either have a ticket or you don't? Tickets are not held back in the way they are for football competition knock out stages.

Never mind, I am a bear, what do I know!

Buster - I'm amazed that you managed to find an airline willing and licenced to carry you out of Luton, you being a bear and all. I trust that to satisfy Defra requirements you will be returning to the UK by some other port of entry... let us know how the whole quarantine thing goes.... perhaps some of the regulars on here might come to visit you in your cage during the quarantine period on your return ? :-)
