More flights for Fedex ?
Heard some rumours that Fedex will have upto three ATR42/72 flights each Monday to Thursday night from BHX to Paris CDG starting this winter.
Is anyone able to confirm this ?

EI UK bases
Aer Lingus are looking to open three more UK bases following the BFS format. Apparently GLA and EDI are under consideration hopefully BHX will be in the running as it was a choice between BHX and BFS initially. Maybe FR base will put them off?

US Airways and BHX
Been reading on airliners.net about US launching new international services and BHX has again been mentioned. With Oil coming down could we possible see US at BHX. Having used US ex MAN this year to LAS and LAX, with both flights full, will they move into BHX???? Be great to finally have a new transatlantic flight ex BHX. Another positive at PHL is imigration clearance was very quick as not many transatlantic flights. Great for onwards......

The thread on the airliners net does make some interesting reading. The Lack of first-year incentives was the reason BHX lost out on US service the year US added BCN and VCE, who each provided very generous marketing packages. This time the rumour is BHX and OSL are competing to see who can offer better incentives for a 752 flight in 2009.
Jet - Birmingham - Bangalore
ABTN are reporting that Jet will start a service to Bangalore - nice headline, but it's only a connection with Brussels Airline

A340/Air India
Kazamb
Home in the Cotswold's I believe and bhx is being used due work at Brize
(it's normal destination) - 12-18 months?
Air India
Rumblings on another forum of a pull-out.
AI site still shows it and it still appears in other reservation systems
but rumours are growing.

Yes. Confirm the Saudi A340 used as a private jet....Normally uses Brize but work at Brize means use of BHX. It has been in several times before...
What would be the reason for AI pull out Pete? The loads look pretty good....

Air India
call100
Air India are currently reviewing quite a few routes with the long running
Heathrow - JFK soon to end plus I believe a reduction on another LHR route (possibly Bombay).
They are supposed to be cutting Paris full-stop, which again includes
the Newark.
The theory behind the New York cuts is to bolster their new non-stop routes from Delhi & Bombay on the 77L. Both these routes have been performing averagely and I think that came from an AI spokesperson.
Also they are supposed to be setting up a European hub at Munich
similar to Jet's Brussels operation and again you would have thought
if this happens the Toronto would eventually go via MUC rather than BHX.
Also AI have an aircraft that can operate ATQ-YYZ which must be
cheaper than a stop. However I have no idea if AI have a spare 77L
to use at ATQ or if ATQ's runway would support a direct YYZ flight.
As for BHX-ATQ it has not averaged over 100 per flight in any one month for ages but of course it has been stated that the ATQ-YYZ bookings are given priority.
If I were BHX, I would be talking to Jet before they start ATQ-BRU and feed everyone via Brussels Airlines. ATQ-BRU was only rumoured the other day on another forum.

Ryanair/BA Divert
HeliCraig
BA Divert - Thunderstorms down south causing delays I believe
Ryanair
From the FR thread BHX-Cunio which I assume is the gap filler on
Tue/Thu/Sat in the winter. Not bookable but in the OLCI which is
usually a good sign. Grenoble is mentioned as well but posibly just
once or twice a week?

Ryanair
CUF & GNB now bookable from 20/12/08 just once a week.
This has resulted in some time changes to the Saturday schedule.
The Saturday Katowice appears to have gone, Murcia moved to
an 0630 departure and Billund back to 1845/2245.
There are now no gaps in the Saturday schedule but I still think
there is a spare slot Tu & Th 1800 onwards. A very busy Saturday
schedule for FR at BHX from 20/12.
