Mickey Mouse Airlines

Why does the airport get involved with these mickey mouse style operations!!! Have they not seen what happened at EMA up the road when they got into bed with UKIA, the nail of an airline still has there rust bucket still rotting in EMA and even BHX has history with FLYWHO ..
People trying to run airlines from there houses should stick to flight sim. It makes the airport look stupid. Now the airport has had to put out a press release saying oh dear sorry people...

Weeding

Ah - do agree Call 100 - Imagine a few managers will be wondering how safe they are especially in the 'overstocked" departments but as for thinning out the masses, I suspect it may be to the outsourcers as usual. Was optimistic he has stated he wants to get out and about and meet the staff. Thats a good sign, for the airport always has had very loyal and hardworking staff and they are the backbone in hard times - worth being seen to be valued by any CEO and JoeK will be a hard act to follow on that front (and a few other fronts!)

He did a stint with SERCO so that does not bode well. Getting around the staff is one thing, listening is another....
Ah Well! been here before...Will just have to wait and see....

I agree with bazzab68 entirly with his comments. I sincerely hope Monarch haven't lost out in any way by this Builge air travel or whatever they call themselves. I wonder if they are fully bonded with an ATOL licence?. How the hell are these cowboys are allowed to function, given the current climate beats me

I guess that following the high profile suspension of AI flights (who I suspect do not plan to return) I suppose the airport would get into bed with anyone offering flights to ATQ - but really what a joke, this lot didn't even make it a one night stand!

What next for India flights from BHX lets hope someone takes up the slack, at least Turkmen are still hanging about......

And what next for long haul itself, at BHX now down to a (still respectable) EK, CO and T5, no year round YYZ anymore and just three Middle East/Asian sub-continent destinations (remember Karachi, Lahore, Tehran, Tashkent!). Will this have any effect on current runway extension plans. Is the actually the demand there for other 'big players' to come in??

Yes, but I am "considering" operating BHX - LHR with a concorde.

I think the consideration will take about the same length of time to reach the same conclusion... especially as neither airliner is flying commercially at the moment!!

Hey Everything is alright Peop's

Dream liner BHX to New York - Emphasis on the first word here, me thinks - It will also stop at Walsall, Wolverhampton , Crewe, Nantwich, Manchester Picadilly and all intermeadiate stations - All aboard folks - "Take the A Plane" - PS there was a Railway Air services that operated from BHX at one stage, to IOM with DH Bi planes - PS Halfpenny Green to SFO also planned - "Advance bookings look very promising" says Sonambulant Airways spokesperson from Mars.

Don't be so silly - it would have to reverse at Nantwich

25 Birmingham Services Affected by Boeing Strike

Ryanair, Europe’s leading lowest fares airline, today (1st October) announced that due to strike action at Boeing it has had to cancel 25 return flights to/from Birmingham. As a direct result of this strike, which has delayed the delivery of new aircraft, Ryanair cannot now operate flights on 21 routes to/from Birmingham between 24th and 28th October (please see below for routes affected) as originally scheduled.

Passengers who were due to travel on these cancelled services will receive a full refund from Ryanair.
Not as bad as Edinburgh but still!

Ryanair

Cov man get a grip it is 2 days of canx not the whole winter scheduled...
All airlines are cutting flights. Some get into the limelight and others not so. Without Ryanair at bhx, there would have been no increase in pax numbers period. People always bash Ryanair but who else would have bought the mixture of routes to bhx, Not anyone I can think of.
I am all for any airlines expanding especially at my local airport and place of work wether it is Ryanair or anyone else............

Because Boeing is on strike and not delivering the aircraft Ryanair need
The only aircraft being delivered at present are ones that were completed before the strike started which has now been going for about 2 weeks

Ian
PS please type in plain text it make a lot clearer reading

The services are only affected for a matter of days. The aircraft intended to go into BHX are stuck in the US, as with the EDI, NRN, REU A/C. However, for the winter season, A/C are being put on the ground in STN and DUB. As with EDI, BHX and NRN will get these A/C instead of the brand new ones.

This strike could actually work in FR's favour, as less A/C will be left on the ground doing nothing!!
