A lot of KLM Cityhopper's Fokker 70s are either undergoing, or due major maintenance checks (hence them having 3 or 4 aircraft on short-term lease), and what with the Fokker 100s going tech so often, there's a lack of replacement aircraft, so services are being cancelled.
The question I would be asking is, is it just our services getting cancelled, or are several services being effected?

Yes it's a lot wider than just us, several airports across the country, and some in Europe, are having the odd flight cancelled, and in a new twist, KLM are not scheduling the odd flights now to avoid having to cancel them, today's KL1537/8 being one, as well as the KL1533/4 on the 17th, and the KL1537/8 on the 20th.
Some better news from KLM though, the KL1539/1530 will be operated by F100s for the winter schedules (if they don't keep breaking down that is!!).

BD 333 - Fri 10 Oct
Evening All
I'm booked on BD 333 on Fri 10 Oct.
Just been on the BMI website to try and book Mrs IB on the same flight, and it is not available to book, just BD 331 or BD 339.
Anyone know if this flight is just fully booked, or has it been pulled for one reason or another?

DTV Airport – Time to get your head out of the sand methinks.
You queried an earlier post of mine because two airlines produced a vote of confidence in continuing to operate from DTVA. No known reason for either to do so whatsoever, either financially or operationally.
Strange don’t you think that just 1 working day later out come an abysmal set of August pax figs. Were the vote of confidence articles a deliberate plan to divert the media away from a well known forthcoming bad news story ? I’ll let you decide that one, and while you do, have a look at August 2006 and you’ll find another 36,000 passengers were going through the doors then. In 2008 we’ll be lucky to total 650,000, and no doubt that will be blamed entirely on fuel price rises and the credit crunch, not management ineptitude.

I find it totally amazing that yet another 'name' Robin Tudor head of PR (...PRopaganda?) at Peel holdings is called upon to comment in the 'local rag' on state of affairs at DTVA, yet again reflecting on the pathetic ineptitude of many employed in the high echelons at DTV. Perhaps some should turn to a career better suited say hairdressing, where they could presumably provide a more positive contribution to the local economy.
Love the para re. GSM surely this is an instance if one has nothing to say or contribute then simply shut up !
As for 'Hughie' well as ever it would appear that he continues to 'walk on water'. How much longer is this complete shambles to continue ?

Hey ! who is calling the Echo a local rag.Its a well established northern newspaper .If you want to read a "rag" look no further than the Gazette.
Its normal practice for Heads of PR in big organisations to make responses to Journos so maybe KQ is busy trying to keep the ship afloat rather than yacking to newspapers.

As for the delivery of information to the media, then if you review the various press releases from DTV over the past year or so then you will note as with everything else there appears no co-ordination & 'yacking' as you put it comes from all directions.

DTVA reps are currently away on their annual trip to the airline routes conference, this time a jolly jaunt all the way to Malaysia no less!! Nice work if you can get it, particularly if their strenuous efforts from previous years are anything to go by, a guaranteed and unreported nil return.
The ‘PR spinner’ from Peel also pointed the finger at Thomson and the ‘credit crunch’ for the drastic reduction in pax numbers in 2008. The general message implied the loss of pax certainly wasn’t DTVA’s fault, and typically for the local media, there was nothing asked about what Peel intended to do to rectify the problem. They were more hung up on the taxing question of what the initials MME actually stood for !!

Hows about they start getting some decent short haul links first before they go chasing after long haul work that will never appear (bar the cruise flights) ??
Some more scheduled stuff and any charter work at all would be nice judging by what next summer looks like at the moment!
