Airfield lights

When the contractors are finished will the lights and airfield be more than CAT I. Surely they must of gone for an upgrade wilst removing the WWII wireing!

it will be interesting to see what Lufthansa do with the MME/LBA - LHR routes, but if they do start long haul from LHR, these kind of routes would feed into the long haul, maybe even try and tempt people away from KLM to Amsterdam. Or if they do stop the flights to LHR because they want to use the slots for something else, how about a EMB-145 flying to Frankfurt 3 times a day to feed the long haul flights from there instead?

Whatever the new owners of BD do, They need to keep the 'Regions' fed into the 'Row'

Or FRA as you say.

I'm afraid to say I'm not one for change at BD, I grew up with BD watching the DC9's 7 days a week.

That was in the good days I dare say.

There's rumoured to be some kind of big announcement from DTVA today, may only be internal, but either way has anyone heard anything?

Could be that the AMS slots used by KLM for the DTV route has been transferred to the new KLM/Liverpool service.

Don't mention the 'N' word! some others mentioned it and they've never been seen again! I think some power crazed moderator came and swallowed them up.

I know lots of 'N' words but only one I could be censured for nowadays. In fact I was in Court some years ago when a Solicitor used it quite innocently in describing someone in a woodpile. Coming from Geordieland he had no idea that it had been outlawed. Can you expand on your 'N' word so I can avoid being suspended again!!!!!

Try looking at the quote, then look for word beginning with 'N' - there is only one, it's not too difficult.

It was only a rumoured announcement, even if it did happen, we may not hear what it was for a few days, or even weeks. Especially if it was internal.

Hey Guys

Anybody tried booking to AMS after next March? Just wondering where KL are finding the a/c to operate LPL/AMS x3 daily.... and against Easy. That's six flight/ day from LPLto AMS...

i would be very surprised if KLM completely axe MME just for LPL - loads are good arent they, not to mention no competition at MME, several runways and in turn free slots at AMS whenver i flew through AMS planes are not queing up to use em like LHR) and there would be other routes to chop potentially before MME ( like any other route in Europe operated by cityhopper, even in the uk there is HUY for example??)

Are we not overreacting a little here??

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt HUY do better than MME and NWI? It must do ok for Peel to not be able to attract it to DSA (as has since been revealed)

pug - apologies on the HUY comment - it was an example of other smaller feeder routes which KLM operate and was just trying to state i dont see why MME would get the chop over other routes like Huy or in fact as you pointed out NWI or in fact anywhere else from the UK for that matter - i didnt intend to state it should be cut, my general point was that I dont think KLM would cut any feeder routes completely just to serve an already crowded LPL.

Dont appologise i was mainly looking for some facts on these routes anyway just out of interest. I think the deal with LPL will have been a long time coming. I dont believe they will change the other feeder routes.

Got to feel lucky that while all the others have stayed clear of the regions, KLM continue to provide an excellent service.
