They've increased frequency on two routes that are not sustainable on a year round basis. Makes a return to 4 based aircraft year round further away.

Thanks, but sure, Cork Munich has been on the go by Aer Lingus now for four or five years!

Maybe, the meant a whole new route all together!?

No such luck?

Its about time that the Cork to Cardiff route was restored. Teh llinks between Wales and Ireland are very important for both nations.

CWL seems to have it's own problems. Its passenger figures manage to make Cork's look good, which is quite an achievement.

However, remembering that it was one of Cork's original 3 routes and also remembering that the rugby calendar can already provide 10-15 full flights each way a year before any other demand is considered, its continued absence is a bit of a surprise.

Realistically, only Aer Lingus Regional will operate it though and they may prefer to up frequency to Bristol rather than add Cardiff.

Does the Cork-Swansea ferry route still operate ?

If not I would hope EIN would announce Cardiff to cater for that demand into Wales

The existing daily Bristol service by Aer Lingus Regional mitigates against a resumption of the Cardiff flights I`d say.
As regards, the Cork Swansea ferry service, it ceased operations last year.
The ferry is now being used as a floating hotel to house workers installing wind turbines in the north sea.

Surprising to hear of so many Cork people booking cheap breaks to Vilnius and Polish Cities since Ryanair began flights.

No. Was mostly fishing enthusiasts from England using it from memory, who might use up the cargo hold on an ATR fairly quickly though.

They're not released until late December/early January.

I wouldn't be shocked to see some rejigging of FR's French routes. La Rochelle in particular didn't have great yields, although this was somewhat counteracted by being a short sector that could easily help with aircraft utilisation. Carcassonne had the best yield of the French routes, but the longest sector.

We don't really know what's happening with Ryanair at the moment. With the Polish routes added, there will have to be some reduction of existing services, unless they have a 3rd aircraft based for the summer.

Wizzair will terminate both Warsaw and Wroclaw by January 13 due to increased competition from rival Ryanair.

Could see this coming. I'd expect Gdánsk and Vilnius to follow, Katowice must be under pressure with Krákow doing so well and Poznan will hopefully hold out. Ryanair has been and will always be nothing but bad news for Cork, swamping in and driving out competition when others have success e.g. Aer Arann, Aer Lingus, easyJet and now Wizz. And this is all fair competition? ..yeah.

Wizzair lasted all of 9 weeks. That leaves Gdansk, Poznan and Katowice. Next question is how long will Ryanair stay on them?
