airline magazines not reporting this development?

airline magazines not reporting this development?

i haven't read anywhere in the airline press about this development. airliner world, airports, aircraft illustrated, - and others. yet they are reporting about less expensive development at Backpool and Birmingham and Newcastle.

Really frustrating as this is a huge step forward for Bournemouth transforming it into a truly regional airport firmly on the map now and a strong competitor to Southampton up the road.

Good point shamrock7seal. This is definitely a major development especially in light of the current economic state.

Blue Islands ceases all BOH flights 19th April 09

If Manx2 are stepping in they are leaving it very late to announce?

Bouremouth

As for the new terminal at Bournemouth,i sent the airport an e-mail some time ago, that seeing the news on the web site never seems to change from one month to the next,if they could post information about the terminal build. Will pass your message on to the manager was the reply, yep still no info, its as though they are ashamed that the long over due rebuild is at last going ahead.

For those that are interested about the new development at Bournemouth there are some quite good photos of the new ramp area and shots of the terminal area

If you go to Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch news, sports and jobs. Dorset and Hampshire what's on and leisure
click on photos then buy photos / order photos and type in " airport " it brings up a selection of photos taken at the airport

Naples - maybe

There seems to be mixed messages about the Friday morning, or is it Saturday afternoon, Palmair Naples flight, as commencing May 1st, or 2nd. Anyone got clarification?

What exactly have Bournemouth Airport done to upset Ryanair ??

They have shed loads of spare A/C, but still no additions to base at BOH !

Has Ryanair's big stick gone all floppy ?

Provided the CATIII ILS that RYR asked for. Maybe RYR didn't expect them to!

During August Ryanair are adding 2 extra weekly flights to Alicante. So there will be 6 flights per week during that month. That's double what was offered last summer.

re FR, maybe they will expand once the new terminal reaches it's first major completion next spring. The interim terminal could easily cope with 4 or 5 flights every couple of hours, so they could expand this year if they felt they could fill the aircraft. That seems to be the main problem at BOH, look at PIK and EDI.

With the summer season just starting it seems a bit premature to be talking about the winter season but i notice that Bournemouth will be minus a Grenoble and Salzburg service this winter as Thomson will not be operating these services

Just wondered if any carriers might be interested in these ski routes as the load factors were quite high on them although the Grenoble route was shared with Crystal holidays and will be the first time in about 18 years there will not be a service to this destination or Chambery previous to this

Are you sure about the Salzburg flights? TOM normally release these flights later in the summer. I think it's usually around July or August. There might still be hope.

I was under the impression Thomson had stopped all city destinations as of this summer and Salzburg was never linked to a tour operator either to help sales like Crystal / Thomson ski

There is room for ski flights on a Saturday as no flights at the moment are scheduled to operate this winter ..........lets hope your correct and they decide there is still a market

Question What's the latest?

Anyone know what's happening with the channel Island routes, is there any latest gossip or has it really died a death

Channel Islands

Expect to see service restored this summer - almost certainly by Manx 2, who's founder was responsible for the original Le Cocqs services (that became Rockhopper then Bliue Islands)

Thumbs up Channel Islands

Would I be correct in thinking that would mean Noel Hayes (Manx 2) who has had dealings with the airport over the past years? If so great news, he seems to know his onions when it comes to ruuning a service for the channel Islands..or is it new potatoes!!

ill believe that when i see it

i cant quite believe my eyes though seeing Palmair's new plane. i really thought the EAAC closure would 'ave killed 'em off. along with our brutal competition of course

at least we kicked them off Faro, Alicante and Malaga

ryanair1, I see you're dropping rotations on ALC, AGP, Dub & GRO this winter. Downturn hitting you hard??? No second plane yet! At times like these people are willing to pay for a little luxury and not to mention courtesy.
