Well its obviously their preference to do that, the flights werent bookable until around 4:30, and i presume the launch brought with it a lot of traffic to them particular flights. One day in the grand scheme of things is not going to make a large difference, people who want to go will still book but will do so tomorrow or whenever the other fares become available.

People need to think before opening their mouths before broadcasting on an open web forum, somewhat incorrect numbers. If the media heard this who have no real clue in aviation, then that is a pretty good news story for them, which then puts bad publicity about the entire operation into a mass public domain putting it at extreme threat. If it came on the news and you heard that CWL had a new carrier and they were offering a return to GLA for only £600 on one fare category what would the general publics perception of that be ? Bide our time and im sure tomorrow the other fares will become available.

Loganair on a SF340 is never going to be cheap against easyJet on an A319 out of Bristol, quite the contrary. Loganair, not a criticism, aren't in the business of "cheap". It's not yet possible (as I type) to book a CWL-GLA return in May so I make no comment on fares...
Well said.........Cityjet have stepped in at short notice to help CWL and deserve a bit of patience and support......they will Proove themselves !!!
Not in the slightest. They've lost market share and profotability at high yielding LCY and as a last minute desperate gamble before closure, they're going to have a bash in South Wales. Last years refocus, Plan B to focus on niche German routes had been a failure and refocussing yet again on lower yield, this time in CWL is the last chance saloon. It's really, really not anything to do with "help, patience or support."

Skipness I'm told Loganair's flight is a Dornier 328. Similar seat capacity right enough, bit faster than a Scab.

Dornier 328 or possibly Saab 2000 I'd imagine if the forward bookings support greater loads

Neither of which can offer fares anywhere near EZY from BRS.

Yes, I know that Cityjet got the fares from Cardiff to Glasgow and Paris on the web before 5 pm on 8th January, with non flexible fares up for 9th Jan.
Yes, I know that last month an effective change of strategic control of the company took place and there is likely major reorganisation either taking place or about to.
Yes, I know the sale agreement was not best timed with the Xmas shutdown.

However I note that with several routes being chopped and various French routes being revived as per the announcement this week, there is very little time to get fares available on the website. Once 01 January has passed, the average N Europe resident begins thinking about summer holidays - the papers are full of extra large travel supplements this month.

Summer leisure routes like London-Avignon, London-Toulon and Amsterdam-Perpignan need to go on sale as quickly as humanly possible to have the best chance of ticket sale revenues. A commitment to be on sale by 31 January in my opinion is a little weak.

I've booked a 2 day trip from Cardiff to Paris in early February, with flights costing me under £100 return, including complimentary snacks and drinks, as well as 12kg cabin baggage? Excellent in my opinion.

Does this mean Air France receive just quasi-dividends as a quasi-shareholder, or are they also on the hook for any losses that may be made by Cityjet as well ?

Not on the hook for any losses, just a share of profits (if any ).

Intro Aviation deal is expected to be signed today, with Intro taking control of CityJet in around 4 weeks time. Perhaps we will learn what plans Intro have for CityJet sometime soon, with regard to routes, fleet etc.

London City - Pau finished on 26 October 2013. Did not run over the last winter and is not returning for summer 2014. Nearest proxy with direct flights to London is Biarritz, Lourdes or Toulouse. Pau is now just French domestic services only

Was the deal signed then? Seems awfully quiet if it was.
