This has no impact on their LCY operations, unless the Bombardier deal also includes an option on some C-series machines once type approved for LCY to replace their aging RJ85's.

I'm figuring that the new Cityjet routes will be on Saturday and Sunday...pm Saturday and am on Sunday. Facilitating the closure at LCY at 1230 until 1230 on Sunday... I'm also guessing West of French destinations....

Interesting order given the current political situation and lack of certification for steep approaches. I'm sure it'll be a busy time for the Superjet International team next year.

This is a great move on their part, and very brave. I have a sneaking suspicion that the superjet is a gem of an aircraft and WX stand to gain a lot. Interjet in Mexico can't get them quick enough and the dispatch reliability is brilliant. Hopefully this opens up the superjet to other airlines.

Apparently the SuperJet 100 has substancially lower operating costs than it`s Embraer and Bombardier competitors and the purchase price is significantly lower. A bold move indeed, fortune favours the brave!
Without wishing to be cynical, is the SSJ purchase essentially a 'bet the company' move, born out of necessity because Cityjet is in a somewhat constrained position financially and operationally ?
If things go reasonably to plan, it should work out well for Cityjet. If things don't work out (and there are plenty of risks here) then Cityjet end up in serious trouble.

Yeah but the SSJ's are being used for fleet replacement. The CRJ900's have been ordered for WX to operate as wet lease for SK. I don't think they would have added the CRJ's if they didn't have the agreement with SK

However, the SSJ100 comes with very competitive financing and other hard to turn down goodies.

I'm not sure if any of it might come down to the fact that the SSJ comes in one shape and size..if you look at the competition you can order the 170, 175, 190 or 195 from Embraer, the CRJ700, 900, 1000, CS100/300 or Dash 8 from BBD, ATR 42 and 72 from France etc. Airlines like having regional aircraft that come in slightly different sizes, they can suit them to their own markets, and many airlines happily operate several members of the same family..i wonder if Sukhoi did a stretch would it help? It would eat into the CS300 market, aswell as the badly selling A319Neo/737 Max 7
