Well it seems things don't happen just in three's, they happen in four's and five's too! If the routes are with Ryanair, and they are domestic, I wouldn't be shocked iif we saw the reintroduction of BRS. Wouldn't know what the other would be... Leeds/Bradford perhaps?

I hope we will see an improvement in frequencies on the BHX route this year cause it has be proven capable of this and I'm sure Oltenpete in Solihull would like to see that!

On another point I think believing Paris would be workable is anything but fanciful.

I look forward to tomorrow anyway!

I'm still betting on a MAN route, as the deal at MAN works better with volume, so RYR have a lot to gain, even with LPL down the road.
They have also said MAN will defiantly gain much more capacity, so maybe a LDY could be a quick, cheap gap filler?

I honestly dont see it bein EDI, doubt a 737-800 could sustain that route. It wont be Cardiff or Newcastle? I doubt itl be another London route as they seem to be building STN back up to its glory days! What other route could it be?

WW are a big possibility and BE introductions have been a rumor mill for years but hey maybe this time itl happen.

WW have said via a tw itter session that there will be no more expansion for 2011, so probably wont be them, but you never know.

BE seem to have tried a few niche routes recently, such as MAN-BOH, MAN-MSE and EDI-MSE, so maybe a MAN-LDY or EDI-LDY could be about to make an apperance from them? (Im not going to say BHX-LDY as BE dont really seem to step on RYR's toes that much)

I have a feeling we could hear something from BE tomorrow. As stated they have been trying a few niche routes recently, and are starting EDI from NOC soon. Would they try LDY - DUB with a Dash 8? Or could it be Jet2? Tomorrow could be a very interesting day.

I dont think BE can match RYR on fares. I would love to see BE at LDY just to give people a bit of variety, although i doubt theyd put a route on that would harm a BE route from BHD!

I hear the airport is to get a revamp inside from Balfour Beatty. Its to be remodelled like Exeter

What turned into a windowless maze? God no! Leave it as it is!

Excellent. Maybe adding a few more check-in desks for all these new routes.
Any idea on when they will start the revamp?

BE to LGW and EDI would be perfect news tomorrow along with this new RYR route. Can't wait.

Speedbird, I take it you haven't been to EXT recently?

A revamp in that manner would be a disaster for LDY. LDY departures side is airy, light and has a great view over Lough Foyle.

EXT has a windowless departures lounge, after you get through the maze of corridors to get there!

What ive been told is all the desks as you come in will be removed and info desk will be where the old shop was, the cafe/bar landside will close and itl become part of security. The logo etc is to go an be replaced by a modern one eg look at Exeter & Blackpools. Itl be great.

The DEPARTURE lounge isnt to be touched, watever work has been done in there with the shops is all

I've never been to EXT cuthere, I was just welcoming a fresher look to the place. But if they turn it into a windowless box it'll be a bad move. The new logo sounds good. I wonder if they will change the name too? Derry-Londonderry International?

So, it's not to be remodelled like EXT then? Good.

However, re-jig of the check-in area/security is much needed. This is welcome news.

I have a feeling we could hear something from BE tomorrow.
Is this just a feeling or a real possibility!? I think if they used an EDI or MAN aircraft they could do a W pattern and serve it 3 days a week, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays. Could chuck in a BRS route mind... would be perfect for BE!

As for prices, yes we've got used to Ryanair fares from LDY, but I think people are realistic, some routes have to be done at a slightly greater price!

On the revamp point, it would be an absolute disgrace to touch the departure lounge view... on a clear day, it is arguably the best view from a departure lounge in Ireland or GB! And no... don't make Derry's Logo uniform with other airports, yes the current one isn't amazing... but it's individual.

We know of one definite guaranteed route that should be announced tomorrow. The BE is just speculation

Hi to all who write in and view LDY thread! This has to be the most upbeat and positive thread on the site in an age. The enthusiasm is great, I only hope that airport management and local media can carry this in the same way, I would agree with many posters a good portion of traffic at say BFS is from the northwest so there is a good opportunity, so we need the flights and the communication/awareness of these to make them work!

I for one will fly the ALC route at some point over the summer as I would like to support it.

Perhaps RYR may do a route that EI has from BFS; My money would be on BCN but does anyone think that a seasonal route to France would be looked at? I sense that the routes from Cork in the summer delivery good fares and loads? La Rochelle/Carcassone??

What does anyone else think of that???

A lot of people from the north west tend to just holiday in Spain so i dont think Carcosonne would work. If any Paris should and most probably would work or Barcelona.

Seen on the Ryanair thread that the route announcement for tomorrow is just a rumour, let's hope it's not.

I honestly havent heard my friend say about the other 2 route negotiations that are in the final stages, therefore i do stress these may be with a NEW carrier!
