Beer tax.
No way you can get a beer for 7 pula in Maun any more mate. Unless you're keen on the chibuku. Gone are those days.
That story on people fighting is rubbish. The pilot culture in Maun is no longer that of drinking and being a nuisance. Hunters/Guides/Researchers get into fights far more often, however it's not a big enough 'story' to warrant being put into the 'news'paper. There are people here still intent on dividing the expat community when really, relations haven't been better in a long time.
I have heard that there is a possibility of an apology being written after a certain proprietor had a word with the publisher asking why his establishment had been singled out in the local tabloid.

Have I forgotten that much about Maun already? Haha or is it 12 Pula? Either way it is only another .25 of a euro!!!
I remember paying 7 at some point... maybe that was how much they cost at happy hour when the buck and hunter was still open...

With your time the doors are open. . you have jet time and lots of twin turbine time.
If ur into TP's, then send a CV to Balmoral. I tried there, but no twin time to speak of or ratings. They fly both types in Afghan and pay well.
Upgrade your B732 to an NG series . . then the world is your oyster!

I know you Canadian have different rules. (I know, Cuz I wrote Canadian regulation exam, to get Canadian CPL)
But buddy here is the link to Federal Aviation Regulation (USA) "Sec. 601.31 (f)-1"
FAR Part 61 Sec. 61.31 effective as of 10/31/2011
And here is the link to PA28 Dakota Specs
Piper PA-28-236 Dakota Performance Information
You can read it !!!
All the best

Not Canadian, just working there.
But I would still not call that "High performance" With that 200hp limitation, anything bigger than a C172 is high performance. In fact, that means there is high performance C172's.
The canadian regs for high performance is (also certain that it is like this elsewhere in the world)
"high performance aeroplane" means an aeroplane requiring a minimum crew of one pilot and having a VNE of 250 knots or greater, or a VSO of 80 knots or greater."

"But I would still not call that "High performance" " lollllllllllll
Are you chief of FAA or something????
Dude NOBODY cares you call it high performance or not. FAA does, And its much bigger than TC.
And not really anything bigger than 172 is high performance. like seminole and duchess are 200hp, they are not high performance.
Usually Cirrus sr20 n turbo arrow and other Aircrafts are kept 200hp(not hp) (or I should say people like to buy those) to reduce cost. Cuz if its more than 200hp, It will be under High Performance category which will increase insurance cost and stuff.

Also, single pilot operation
CAR also state that with VSO 80kt, VNE 250, It should require single Pilot.
So, there would be hardly any aircrafts in general aviation meeting these criteria. Most would be in military.
So, I can also say that this rule does'nt make sense.
But at the end we are not making rules here. These are all written in FAR's and CAR's and I was just letting you know as you asked "Since when was a Cherokee high performance?"

There is a 220hp C172. Would also make things like a C206 or a GA8 "high performance" which they certainly are not!
King Air 100's are single pilot and are not high performance under those regulations.
You are showing your ignorance there.
I am just trying to help you out by not being laughed out of the building when you are sending your resume out.
But by all means carry on. I have a flying job. Do you?

You just said "which they certainly are not!". Now, this depends on one's definition of high performance.
I just showed you according to FAA they are high performance. May be not according to TC.
I have flown in states, So they say them high performance there, Now that's a fact.
Because you need a separate "high performance" endorsement to fly those aircrafts in US.
That's why I wrote "high performance" in my resume.
I understand your point. But you see, I am not wrong in writing that too.
And can you tell me the names of some COMMON general aviation aircrafts which according to TC or you are "high performance"..??
Well , Ya I don't have a flying job right now. I got Indian License last month, Right now there are almost no jobs in the market, here in India.
So, looking out.........

hey wxy, i don't think you are getting the gist of lilflyboy262's comments. He's not trying to rope you into an argument or challenging you to an air law showdown. The point he is trying to make is that, while the FAA air law may say one thing, the chief pilot of a place where you are applying for a job may read something totally different in your resume.
I actually have some time in a piper dakota as well. Great aircraft and lots of fun to fly! :-) moving up there from the C172, C72R and the C182 I guess i could call it high-er performace, but really...in the grand scale of things, nobody will see it that way. and once I got pushed onto the C208 I understood why. It still is a light, single engine piston <5700kg. So if I was you, I would actually take the 'high performace' of my resume. but hey, that's just me!
