Chusan I dont understand your point.
The fraternity of aviation professionals,no matter your area of expertise, cannot condone your comment here.

We may not always agree here, but the positions expressed here are normally passionate and based on experience.

Your prang comment if it happens does not just affect Arik or our professional colleagues in Nigeria, but also West African aviation.
If Nigeria is disrupted,is it the GCAA and GIA that can carry the job on as West Africa's regional hub?or Senegal Dakar?Ivory coast,Liberia,Gabon, who Chusan?
It would affect our interests in that part of the world if Nigerian Aviation is affected since there is a symbiotic relationship between African carriers.
VK,Arik,Bellview and Aero are important to African aviation, whether you accept it or not Chusan.

Zazoo,
I'm sure there's no NG in Nigeria or B3 for that matter that you intend to fly.
Just give it up man; you are doing the 767 type training in Texas and we all know it!
At least, i do, the rest of Nigeria does, and so do the guys here on the prune!
Further reason why you'd jump to the aid of B3 or (WT) Nigeria AirWASTE! Having been trained by their likes etc.
Not letting ANYONE have a go at either.
Have fun whilst at it, the B767-200 is not too bad a piece of technology.
At your age, it's probably be your last type upgrade.

Thumbs up Arik to NAF OK

Well I took the Arik flight to Port Harcourt and it was really quite pleasant. However, there ground and check-in staffs really do need a lots more of training. It is so nice to be able to fly direct to NAF again, the times seems well chosen and although the fare is quite high, I think is reasonable for the convenience of avoid the terrible raod journey from Owerri.

I must admit this is the safest, cheapest and most convinient way of getting into portharcourt.
I forsee arik capturing the whole traffic into that area especially if they start a shuttle service like vks to abuja!
I hope vk/aero are monitoring closely otherwise your airplanes will soon be empty to owerri!
Vk watch out at least aero has turboprops already, and they have a terminal in NAF AS WELL they can easily match arik fire for fire.
Aero you may soon have competition in osubi/benin with this DASH8S
As for Arik ,good product good thinking, and thanks for giving the public,a convinent way into port harcourt,by thE way i would be prepared to pay far higher than what you charge to NAF BASE,so i think its a good deal

PERSONAL OPINION

Hi LJT,

U seem to be experiencing a loss of sense of reality, u cease to see and respond appropriately to the everyday world we are used to and I believe u ar seriously screwed up in ur little world and definetly only seek attention by spitting out abuse and obscenities at all u encounter!!!

I beleive from going through a few of ur postings here on pprune u suffer from a serious mental illness which from my brief stay in medical school I believe may not be short of a major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and borderline personality disorder.

But not to worry LJT the good news about ur illness is that recovery is
possible and hopefuly I will also not be sharing a flightdeck with u.

Seek help quick and be careful my friend.

Takecare

Thumbs down Is This the Arik Thread or the Slagging Off Thread?

Um..... I thought this was the Arik Air thread, but it seems to be the Nigerian pilots slagging each other off in public thread . Can we start a new thread for Nigerian pilots to slag each other off and write about Arik on it?

Unhappy Arik Baggages Allowance, Aero Overcharging

I am hearing some storys that Arik is allowing different baggages allowance on its Dash 8 between Lagos and Port Harcourt. Some say is 10 kg and other is 15 kg and have also heard that they won't even allow excess to be paid for. Can anybody tell me the real story?

I see Aero has now start a service also to NAF but is only 3 days a week and they are charging N35,000 for one way ticket . Can they be serious? They are going to start to turn customers away from them if they will start such nonsense

It seem to me that we passengers are being taken for ride on a route where there is not enough competition and Aero has really taken a step backwards in my book

Thumbs down Arik Stops Operating To Ph?

What's going on with Arik Air? Nearly all their flights between Lagos and NAF Base, Port Harcourt have been cancelled over the last couple of days with no credible explanation and no refunds being given . With the road between Port Harcourt and Owerri being very dangerous with many robberies and kidnappings, the start of the Arik service was universally welcomed, but now many people are getting very upset with them. There are many rumours for the lack of service including a strike by expatriate pilots because they haven't been paid; the lessors not having been paid; engine problems with their Dash 8s; possibility of their aircraft being impounded if it landed at NAF Base due to non-payment of landing fees; failure of the Dutch pilots to pass their Nigerian air law exam . Whatever the truth, the company, in typical Nigerian fashion, is saying nothing as whatever reputation they are starting to build, crashes and burns . People had such high hopes of them and it will be sad if they turn into yet another of the all-too-many failed Nigerian ventures.

It was also strange to see their advert in Flight International last week (?) for almost all the top positions in Flight ops? I cannot see how they could operate without these positions being filled? Anyone any explanation?
