Friend in Nigeria say there is Harmattan in Port Harcourt for some days, but I have still no news of Arik. Is difficult to call them in Lagos and I have received no reply to e-mail. Does anyone have any news? Are they still flying to other cities of Nigeria?

Arik Kind Reply
As I have already posted in another thread, I have received most kind reply from DFO at Arik and even more kindly one from his wife explaining they have had problems with phones - this I can understand in Africa. I belief aero is missing a good opportunity in not offering this flight, because once Arik start to NAF it will surely cost aero money from the Owerri - Lagos route. I hope Arik will make announcement of start date and schedule soon. Good luck

I heard that too. The a/c is wet-leased from Denim Air of the Netherlands. Heard from someone they are starting LOS-PHC(NAF) x3 daily starting JAN 29. Could someone confirm?
What happened to their 737 plans? No news re BEN or ENU yet.

the dash 8 should be here in the next 2weeks and also the 4th crj900 and 3 crj200 should be in by the 2nd week in feb, long haul should start 1st of may, and 2 737(NG) by april, we wish them all the best, but until we see them for ground before we believe.

I am enjoying VK,Bellview,Aero, and Arik resurrection of Good olde Nigeria's reputation within African aviation.
I really do believe that these airlines are the key to revamping the Nigerian aviation industry, and I am so glad that finally the horizon looks not just good but great.Good luck chaps.

Nice Paint Job
Nice photograph you found there Rani. The colour scheme is certainly nice. Have you heard any rumours as to then they'll start using it on the Port Harcourt run? Arik's website has been taken offline, so hopefully that means they're updating it with news of their new acquisitions and routes. It will be most welcome in Port Harcourt in helping some alleviate the awful journey to Owerri and the chaos of the Sam Mbakwe cargo airport. Check in and luggage collection there are a nightmare and the place is crawling with touts and pickpockets.

Well, well.
Arik now operating from LOS into ABV,ENU,BNI and CBQ with rumours about them entering into PHC soon, and international routes starting this year.
Hear they have got very tight security which is great,as VK is doing the same and that helps African aviation industry's reputation, doesnt it?.
Hope Aero and Bellview will follow suit in tight security around their aircraft with pax and hold baggage screening at international standard for domestic flights within Nigeria huh?
Seems like exciting times for Nigerian flying public.
Keep it up VK and Arik.

Flights to PHC do not seem to be only a rumour, as from previous posts you can see they plan to use the dash 8 (already in LOS) on that particular route (among others?).
Good luck and congratulations to the 'Nigerian Aviation' for these clear signs of improvement.
