Any chance of someone hosting a website with all the best captions and piccies so far? That way we don't have to wade through 64 pages of pprune to find the sheer comedy genius that is bored aircrew.

Love to, but sadly many of the pics have gone AWOL. Can anyone out there help fill in the blanks for the Hall of Fame?

Nice work, DaveyBoy!
The pic for 3rd March 2005 was originally kept at http://www.flynavy.flyer.co.uk/f111pprune.jpg -- maybe whoever controls flynavy.flyer.co.uk is among us, and can help out?

Before we allow this excellent thread to wither and die, it should come back to the top (plus I enjoyed seeing the last piccy again - for the jet, of course!! ).
I lost track of who was supposed to declare the winner and post a new piccy - maybe airborne_artist should act as Mr Vice!

Unforunately the 4 Apr 05 one of the chap getting his helmet fitted came from the Defence Image Library.
If you go there, don't click on the RAF link now as some chimp has put it out to contract to [email protected] and you end up with @ 4 pop-ups and are one step away from Russian porn!

This excellent thread is going to slip into obscurity if we don't do something. The Caption Comp is about to vanish from the first page once more and with that in mind, I hope that I am not presuming too much, by putting forward a small picture opportunity for some shining wit.
To get the ball rolling once more, I suggest that this photograph and resultant captions should be judged on Tuesday by 1800Z so that those with some tenuous claim to wit can take their rightful place.

"I know what you're thinking, did he fire 1199 shots or only 1200? Well, in all this mess I kinda lost track myself, but seeing that this is an AH64 Apache with a 30mm M230 chaingun, the most powerful helicopter gun in the world and could blow your head clean off, you gotta ask yourself - do I feel lucky? Well do ya, punk?"

It was a challenge taken up with enthusiasm: that if enough hairspray were applied to Joanne's bush, they could hover over it without it moving. The enthusiasm vanished, and all the pre-orders for videos were cancelled, when word got round that Joanne's Bush is a geographical feature. The bill for 1500 litres of hairspray was grudgingly paid.

AH64 = Army Hedge cutter... 64 being the number of Middle Wallop employees it takes to get the thing in the air for an hour. The sign is code for "Beware, Hedge Cutting in progress" ....
.... I'm very tired....

The Middle Wallop blokes were less than amused when they found that their Nap of the Earth exercises were coordinated with Hampshire Police
