What makes you say that ?

take a look at their career website and see with your own eyes. It’s written under the English version of the KLM’s pilot career website.
  • You speak and understand excellent Dutch and English. If you are non Dutch-speaking, we ask you to take an exam at European Reference Framework B2 level prior to the selection procedure

Hugaan 28th April 2025 15:04

Yes. You are right but this is not new.
These requirements are part of their already long-time existing prerequisites. They reverted now to the "usual" job application page and removed the one regarding the non Dutch speaker pilots.
Hence you can apply only if you select the Dutch page.

I know, but what surprised me — and perhaps others as well — is how quickly they removed the acceptance for non-Dutch speakers. I really hope they will reconsider and accept non-Dutch speakers again soon.

they got 750 applications. That’s more than enough to process for the coming months. That’s the reason the removed DEP non Dutch webpage. Once they need more. The ad will be online again. Webpage you are seeing has been there for years. It’s not the other add with non Dutch that has been removed.

I appreciate your reply.

Are you working for KLM currently? If so, do you believe they will re-open again for non Dutch speakers in the near future?

Thank you!

Nobody knows when it will be open again. But i wouldnt be suprised if it will be open again after processing the 750.

I contacted the KLM recruitment department about a month ago. And they confirmed me that it is closed due to a high number of applicants. And they do not know when or if it will reopen for non-Dutch speakers.

For the one's who have made the cut to start the process, would like to share some details of the amc psych test or grading, pm at your discretion. Goodluck to all with the process. Tia M_1

Anybody got a clue how to prepare for the online assessment?

bene33 20th May 2025 09:48

Their Assessment Center (AMC) appears to be fully booked, no new dates are currently available. Does anyone know if they are still sending out invitations for upcoming assessments?

It's Aviation Medical Center, the company providing their psychosometric/aptitude testing. It is one step in the recruitment process. A few hours of tests on a computer and a roleplay exercise, plus a talk with a psychologist.

Ahh, got it. Thx!

can you tell how did you do your preparation for that?

I heard the other day that if you take the Emirates prep course at “Latest Pilot Job” you will be well prepared for KLM as well. Is that true?

I'm retired now from KLM, so it's been a while, but if I remember correctly the calculation went something like this: Let's say you're working EUR and on a 6/3 cycle (6 days on, 3 days off) If you were working 50% (available only on EUR due to exposure concerns) the calculation would look something like X/9 = 100/50. X would work out as 18, so your total cycle would be 18 days i.e 6 days on 12 days off.

Your cycle would effectively double.

For 80% the calculation would be X/9 = 100/80 or 5/4, giving a cycle of 11,25 days. Total cycle would be 6 on 5,25 off. In this case you would get 5 days off and the .25 would be banked to your credit. Once your fractions of days total 1 KLM must give that day back.

As far as I know dutch law requires all companies to grant part time employment after 6 months, but don't quote me on that.
