You don't like Albania, that's fine. As I said everyone and everyone's situation is different. There is no point to exaggerate. I prefer Durres to Tirana. There is no cows crossing the high speed road due to a concrete barrier separating directions of travel.
Germany and Denmark (god forbid) are not everyone's heaven either. Personally I prefer Albania to those 2 countries.
Whatever was said before, salary is still tax free in Albania. I don't care about pensions, I have it earned already.
Nobody forces you to stay in TIA. FCO waiting list is virtually empty. Everyone applied before March has got it already.
Should you prefer to pay 3-4 times Durres's price for a dump in Gallarate or Ostia, you can always do that.

Rosters: 14/7 is only available in Albania, Romania, FCO, MXP, and KUT. TIA also has 15/15 and reverse, but you have chosen to ignore that. 6/4 doesn't exist. It is 5/4.
FCO and especially MXP are slow because they are not organized, and not because of some safety protocols. I have my share of stories. And yes, being a small airport is an advantage of TIA.

Hello Dmitri,

thanks for the reply.
I think you missed the core concept of my post, so i will try to explain myself again.

First lets get rid of all polemics here; i did not say i don't like Albania, i love the place and i said that.

What i do not like is the "use" of certain Countries by Wizz, avoiding labour regulations with unclear terms and conditions.

The fact that Wizz is now sending people directly to Italy is all but correct, since there are waiting lists for all bases and people should not jump over others in the lists.

Dump term, (from dictionary is a place where garbage is thrown) was not intended to offend you, or anybody else from Albania.
Fact is that garbage is all around in Durres.
To be fair, there are dumps also in Italy. A lot actually.

Good to know they put fences along the highway to Tirana, i hope they fixed the holes too (as big as swimming pools at times). At least people now don't risk their lives while driving.

Now the serious stuff.

The fact that you earned your pension already is irrelevant.
We should all try to create better conditions for the people who will come AFTER us, and not only think about our little gardens. This "dividi et impera" policy of Wizz is based on people who think like you.

In eastern Europe since a few years ago there were no labour protections so there is a tendency to think that Wizz is a normal employer on that regard.
It is not.
I suppose you pay taxes somewhere, so if you are happy i am happy. If you are Ukrainian or Russian probably nobody will chase you for unpaid taxes, for us here its a whole different story.

When i was in Tirana i had 6/4, i apologize for the typo error. Now you guys have 5/4 too (which is actually a 6/3).
Reverse roster must be planned and organized by pilots and approved by planners, i really cannot comment this as i think we are the only company in the world with such a procedure.

About the ops i remain firmly on my position.

Like you said, it is all very personal, so if you think this is the right place for you, i have no right to convince you of the opposite.

Wizz is not my first airline, and having flown for a legacy i can tell you, nothing is normal in here.

It won't be my last airline. I have my own principles but i understand that, for the sake of a quiet life, Wizz is the number 1 choice for many.
We all have different standards.

That's all from my side. Enjoy your time there and stay safe. I am truly happy to hear that you fit in well.
Wizz potential is huge, i hope things will improve.

Best again to All!

Possibly depends on your hours, but someone correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve heard low hours applicants waited for two years to get an assessment, but others with experience have been fast-tracked within a few months. There’s definitely movement now though.

In that case you have good chances to be called quickly. We are loosing quiet a number of FOs to the ME and beyond.
I would suggest you go through the usual ATPL stuff for the test (i heard its changed so i cannot give you any info on that), but the key items are the interview and the sim.
Good luck.

No idea at all. But heard well below the other local operators. And this is the same for all AOCs.
Beware that life in AUH is very expensive, more than Dubai.

Last time I checked. In AHU with 900h cpt goes around 12k-13k SFOs around 7-8k. In €. Including housing etc. These can vary if you fly less.
But yeah its either suck it and get the hours done with the worst local conditions or stay home in European AOCs.

some one have told me it’s around 35000 AED with 75+ Hrs per month. With 8000 Euro living in Abu Dhabi will be fun 🙄

Yeah, dont forget that at this time, I dont know how it is at other bases but in My country most FOs are hunting open flights to get some hours and decent money(approx. 2.5k with current hours). SFO (money 3.5k). So 75h is not really realistic at this time. Some people somehow get +60-70h a month but I dont know about their case.
what I mean is I wouldnt shoot my last bullet on hour based estimates.

Day/week of a life

Hi everyone,

Sorry for being completely off topic on the discussion above me but can someone give me a link, article, opinion etc something that will show me what a traditional Wizz Air pilot’s life looks like? And I mean the minute details, like what does your day look like?

I am aware this is a bit non-specific but anything like that would be appreciated.

Tortilla 16th May 2024 09:25

Guys, quick question:
The base allocation comes with offer letter after interview? Or is just an offer without a base, with general conditions only?

Assessment Feedback ABU DHABI

Hello guys any feed back for WIZZ AUH assessment. Is the assessment similar to one in LPJ?

I heard they have changed the ATPL question bank. Any suggestions where to get the latest one ?

Well, that will be a first (if happens).

Guys, does Wizzair provide separate contract for training period or directly normal one?
I received offer with different base that I accepted after passing selection and is Confair contract. In country where I should be based there is no Confair.
Can someone advise?

Off topic, but when did you do your assesment?I'm asking to get an idea of how much time you spend in the Holding pool these days

It's best to directly contact Wizz Air HR and clarify the situation. Tell them that you accepted their offer with a different base but noticed the Confair contract mention.
When you get in contact with HR you can ask questions like Why is the base different from the initial offer? or Which type of contract will be used at your actual base location?

This is exactly what I did, Im waiting for their answer. I need to resign my actual contract and start my notice period with actual airline, so time is ticking away. Some of my colleagues after accepting base got a phone call from HR and they could ask all the questions. I just received an email and is very confusing.
