You’re absolutely right, thanks a lot 😅 I’m non-type rated and I’ve passed the selection for Wizz Air Malta! Really appreciate your help! 😁

Based on the information I was able to gather from this thread and other sources it usually takes between 4 to 9 months before being called from the holding pool. In some exceptions people were called straight away. A lot of variables come in play we have idea about. I wish I could help you more. Did the assessors by any chance mention any time frame when you should be expecting to start?

For those at Wizzair UK, how do the London bases work? Are you responsible for both airports if on standby? Or are you just married to one airport? And can you swap a Luton trip for a Gatwick trip and vice versa?

Alloy 2nd November 2025 09:12

It is two hours between LTN and LGW so you only have to report to your one designated base airport for standby (although you could then in theory end up in a taxi to the other). Personally unless you have no other options, I would look elsewhere.

Jimbodawg 26th November 2025 00:10

It seems like Wizz is reducing LGW for LTN. Are they selling their slots - are there slots in LGW? I read converting +35 XLRs to 321 NEO. I guess that these are good, proactive measures. What is the general feeling?

Hi Gumps!
The only feedback I can offer is from my interview back in 2019, so it may have changed significantly since then.
The initial day consists of a group exercise (google einstein house puzzle) where they want to see you interact and adapt to other guys opinions. Usual stuff.
The second part will be a technical assessment in front of a panel where they'll ask you system/atpl/what-if situation questions.

If you pass through this, you will be invited to the sim the next day. Fairly straightforward, problem+ecam+dodar= great success.

I have a pdf file with some atpl questions they may throw at your way (they did with me, but I was non-rated).

Good luck!

Hi, does anyone know what the current situation is with FO NTR recruitment at Wizz Air ? Are they currently inviting people to apply? I've been waiting since September and no response.

BarryMG 29th November 2025 11:34

Historically, waiting times for NTR FOs have been around 6 months, have patience :)

I am in the same situation. They told me that they expect to take Cadet assesments in 2026 again..

CW247 3rd December 2025 14:36

Is the 14/14 thing real? Alistair is reaching out via LinkedIn offering it but I don't trust WizzAir to honour such a thing long term.

Absolutely real, but it is not contractually guaranteed, and has been taken away during COVID but restored a couple years later.

Thanks. Any ideas how many hours people are flying in that period?

Aviator28pm 3rd December 2025 22:39

Does Wizzair is still opened to recruitment in Italy ?

enzino 4th December 2025 06:09

If you mean recruitment events, yes. If you mean placement directly into Italian bases forget it. It can take up to two years to get a base transfer in Italy at the moment depending on your rank, base expansion and people moving/leaving.

Is there any difference between applying to WAM or WAH as a NTR cadet? I don't mind which AOC I work in. Is there one of the two faster in terms of selection, assessment, holding pools?

I don't know if there is any difference between recruitment time frame. Probably more or less the same. However, think about where your target base is, if you have one. If you don't have a target base, think about which base(s) would be best for commuting to where ever you live. Anyway unless you get based in one of the larger bases like OTP or WAW, commuting will be pretty bad. Usually involving two flights and lots of waiting around in airports to get home.

In general Wizz Malta pays significantly more, because you pay less tax. Pay in KUT is also good, which is WAH.

So if you have no preference, I'd choose Wizz Malta.

Thanks Pedro! Then I will wait for WAM to call me, although it takes quite long..

MCT SET 15th January 2026 17:53

how is the situation in WUK for anyone working there right now, how is the rosters and pay, overall morale?

Kedy 16th January 2026 14:14

Hey guys. Any recent holding pool activations? I’ve been waiting since september as experienced non-type rated FO for WAH

edit: added AOC

Chauderon 17th January 2026 23:59

It doesn't really matter how they are treating you this week, because they will treat you as badly as they can whilst maintaining operations. That sums up the whole method of doing business. If the market shifts and there are less opportunities for pilots, the 'not contractually guaranteed' roster patterns above will be gone and you'll receive an email with the exact words: "thank you for your understanding".
