I haven’t but been offered it in the past . I reckon a months lead time and use one of the commercial preparation packages like Pass. There’s seems one of the hardest assessments with lowest pass rate

For those asking about money,

FO= 0,022€/KM (GCD) , 12€ Landing , Basic 21k/Year
SFO= 0,0429€/KM, 21,47€/Landing Basic, 26k/Year
CPT= 0,0769€/km, 37,2€/Landing Basic, 45k/Year and +4k/year to your basic for every 1000h Pic flown in company.
If bonded you should do -5000€ from yearly basic for 3 years for TR.

- At 1500h factorised you are an SFO. at 3000h if ready, you have a shot for upgrade.
At my base yearly kms, basic salary and sectors calculated and devided by 12, gives around 5k net for SFO and 9k net for CPT. This may vary significantly with the country and local taxes etc. The calculation above is for around 850h/year.
- Roster= If expat, on bases with +3 or 5 planes (dont remember exactly), you have 14/7, 5/4, Flexible. but 5/4 first day off can be rest day so dont count on it too much if you want to go home to the west. Best is reverse roster if you live in a place with at least 4 flights to your base you can reverse with somebody which is ''Heaven'' acording to some colleuges.
- Again, This suits me good as I live at my base but if you have kids and wife from a small town in France, best to go for Volotea or something while waiting for AF. If you are from a major city with wizz flights, you will be fine.
From my experience people are nice and viberent. And overall ambience is nice. The only thing I would like in the futur is the HP bidding rules to improve. The rest is same low cost standarts.

I suggest you brush up a bit with one of the preparation sites. Interviews are mixed so you get cadets, experienced FO and CPT both TR and NTR. Up until the SIM the assesment is same for everyone. First step is a computer based exam. 60 minutes and if i recall correctly around 40ish questions. Mix of company-related questions like how many aircraft they have, who is the CEO etc. ATPL theory questions, nothing too crazy they are balanced in my opinion and its stuff you shoud know, minimums, fuel policy, runway and taxiway markings, lights, METAR or TAF, like stuff you actually use on a regular basis. I recall only one weird question it was about how many firefighting vehicles should be on a certain class of airport or something like that. High school math with, volume, time distance speed, if a wheel has a certain diaemeter how many times it have to roll to complete a certain distance. Division, multiplication with big numbers. Like multiply 35067 x 3242. No calculator, pen and paper. If 5 workers complete some task in x amount of time. How long it would take for 9.
There is 2-3 chart questions and i remember they are a bit tricky, The answer that seems obvious is wrong so take your time with that. Once you finish they will split you in groups for the group excersise. With some ridiculous task, goal is not to complete but they watch you communicate. After that they will let you know the results from the first exam. Some stay, some go home.

After that HR and Technical interview, 2 guys, one observing and taking notes the other one talking to you. This will obviously depend on your experience and varies wildly, with some guys they really went deep into technical stuff. Also if you give a wrong answer is not an automatic fail I found out. I nailed the whole thing it went really well until the last question. I don't remember what was it but i was confidently incorrect. They asked me if i am sure. Im like yeah sure. They laughed and told me that once i leave the room i should read up on it. Then you are finished for the day. You will receive an email if you should go for day 2. In my case it was super late because our group was more than 90 people. Next day they will organize you into groups for the sim. Its early, like 5AM. Briefing before that. They told us that no feedback will be given and do not ask for it.

Cadets go with cadets, NTR experienced together and TR experienced together. So sim will depend on that. If you are type-rated pretty much guaranteed to get an emergency. You do both PF and PM around 30-40 minutes each.

After the SIM they will tell you shortly if you passed or not. You go for the aptitude tests. I mean the usual **** like COMPASS test but it's not called that. The most annoying part is the psych evaluation. It's like a stupid amount of questions many asking for the same thing and you have to reply on a scale like strongly disagree to strongly agree.

Results can vary. Some guys received the pass or fail while walking out. For some it took weeks.

How are things at Wizz UK? I'm hearing it's a 40k bond, for 5 years for cadets. This seems a lot, they must be losing a lot to other airlines, does anyone there see things improving?

Giving you a type rating and letting you leave after 6 months for free?

The bond has never stopped anyone from leaving Wizzair, and good luck to the company if they try to enforce it in court

No, just how are things generally. What's the culture like, how's the roster, are people happy there etc. 5 years is a long time to commit, worth knowing what it's actually like to work there.

As you probably know there is a kind of roadshow-assessment for experienced FO and Capt(invited only) around Europe; Rome, Madrid, Bucarest etc

They also call ”assessment “ does anyone know if the program is the same they use to have in Budapest; technical test(FO) technical interview and SIM if successful?
I don’t understand if all the selection process start and finish in this slot or if this is the first step before the final assessment in Budapest later on.

Not much changed then in over ten years.

Not the best airline, far from it. That much is clear.
However, there are not that many options for those freshly minted CPL ME/IR pilots with a frozen ATPL and 250TT. Especially, if they do not speak the obscure language of any small country at a native level and haven't completed some insanely expensive training at the legacy airlines' own schools to have the opportunity to work for them.

Are all of these better jobs here with us in the room right now?
