Sorry for asking, but how can you have 6000 hrs on airbus and not be Cat 3?

It's not all airlines in the world that have this training... The number of ours has nothing to do with the fact of having or not CAT3 training. It depends on the airline you fly.

EZY Milan Rostering

Hi, Im interested in the EZY Milan rostering. Is it similar to LGW where you work 5/3-5/4 earlies then lates? Are nightstops common?

Thank in advance for the heads up.

outside the UK I believe it’s FRV roster rather that fixed pattern.

Lots of 5/4 in Milan

dirk85 28th April 2018 22:56

One year mandatory flexi roster in Italy, and then 5/4.

Some parts of the world don't require it. For example, who needs in LWMO in Australia? My company trained to CAT II only for many years as 300m is was about the lowest experienced on any of ports in our network. It's only recently that we went to CAT III and that was to align with our sister company. I doubt if I do more than one LWMO approach in a year.

DEC Type Rating Costs

Sorry if this is a repeat, but for DEC NTR, how much is the candidate required to pay and is it taken off before tax? Interested in UK based work.

VJW 2nd May 2018 16:26

Does anyone know what the flight pay works out 'roughly' per year (net) for a DEC?

737 Jockey 2nd May 2018 19:15

I would disagree that the TR costs are not reclaimable against tax. The TR is required to be able to do the job, therefore (IMHO) it’s a legitimate business expense and should be put through on your self assessment form, just like travel, subsistence, dry cleaning etc. Ryanair Pilots were successfully putting the £20,000 through in one tax year. This would be approx. £7,000 per year for three years.

Still outrageous that DEC’s are required to stump up for this in any case!

flight pay around £17,000 a year, so I’ve been told.

Gents,
At the moment it seems that they are recruiting ntr dec only for LIS.
Any hope they will reopen for LGW?

Monarch Man 3rd May 2018 05:26

737, until experienced pilots STOP paying for typeratings, EZY will keep charging for them, it’s that simple.

Can anyone comment on what to expect for the NTR DEC sim evaluation? I fly a 737NG so am thinking if I got as far as a sim evaluation it might be good to get familiarized with the A320 on my own dime.

Can anyone provide information about the Portuguese bases please? Trying to find out some information on the rosters and how the staff travel works. Thanks

Seems like EZY reopen recruitment for low timers this time

interesting that they seem happy to fully fund cadet type ratings, but not experienced DEC! 🤔🤬

dirk85 16th May 2018 14:13

They want 10k “contribution” plus a bond most likely, so not properly fully funded.

Interesting that the job posting is under the Amy Johnson Iniative but there is no mention of it being open exclusively to women...

CAE recently re-opened easyJet recruitment to their cadets but were still asking for the cadets to self-fund the type rating.
