Looking at the aircraft on order, we still need to recruit a lot more Pilots. In my experience, NAS have recruited a larger ratio of Captains than FO's, in the short term, as we can fly in both seats, which gives them more flexibility. We've also recruited a lot of experienced FO's, some of which are already upgrading within a year of joining, so, there will still be a significant requirement for FO's in the future. It's just a question of time and training department capacity.

May be an obvious point, but a personal recommendation from someone from within NAS, helps a lot!

Good things come to those who wait :ok:

DutchExpat 7th Mar 2014 10:38

A friend contacted the agencies: no dec s anymore untill after the summer and non type rated need not apply for 738 and non Boeing experience need not apply for 787 unfortunately....

LNIDA 8th Mar 2014 08:28

Also factor in that the classic fleet is being reduced.

The original plan was i believe 15 courses during the 1st quarter, then every alternative week.

Just running through a few things in my mind regarding this company. I'm wondering what happens after the 2 year temporary contract. From what I can see you will be permanently employed in a company, what form that takes I think has still to be decided.

I noticed some rumours on here about them setting up different companies in the various countries that they have a base. Would this mean that transferring from one base to another would then become far more problematic?

A good question, but it shouldn't be any more difficult than changing agency and that is straightforward, Norwegian's product is seasonal, more so in terms of location than the volume of product, due to the Scandinavian's decamping en masse to the Canary isle come winter, so there is always some movement of people to bases other than their own with season change, this tends to be new hire, but not exclusively so.

TypeIV 25th Mar 2014 18:50

Does anyone have any updated info/rumours regarding if the FO-recruitment will start to pick up again?

go around flaps15 25th Mar 2014 19:18

All courses up until May are filled as far as I'm aware.

From what I've heard the next recruiting drive is around Autumn time.

TypeIV 29th Mar 2014 21:13

Are there any news regarding what actually has happened to the contract-pilots who has finished their two years and now supposedly should be employed directly?

captplaystation 30th Mar 2014 08:08

We should know within the next few weeks as the HEL base becomes 3 years old. The company had the option to extend the time period up to 3 years (which they did) the time is now up.

TypeIV 30th Mar 2014 13:36

I wonder what they're going to come up with, and if this leads to a subsequent change in T&Cs besides the contract expiration issue.

Any rumours about new bases?

N747EX 4th Apr 2014 10:00

There should be some calls going out this month (April) for interviews in May if anyone hears could you please post, thanks

TypeIV 4th Apr 2014 20:40

For captains or first officers?

N747EX 4th Apr 2014 21:13

Ive heard both but more FO's or so the rumours go!

Interviews

Has anyone had an invitation to an interview yet? The suspense is killing me :*

My names Turkish 28th Apr 2014 08:44

I was told there would be interviews next month by friends already in but there hasn't been a word amongst my colleagues who have applied. Going on what I have seen in the last six to eight months they don't give a lot of notice, it's usually about a week to ten days notice for an interview. The recruitment process is very no nonsense with short lead in times and generally a job offer within a day or two of the interview. So when it happens, it happens fast.

Cont 28th Apr 2014 10:30

I had about 4 or 5 days notice when I had mine, got the results a few days after that too.

2whites2reds 28th Apr 2014 20:26

Thanks Guys! Still all sounds pretty positive. Fingers crossed

Raptor71 30th Apr 2014 15:38

Everyting happens fast with Norwegian. Fingers crossed too

captplaystation 5th May 2014 13:45

I had fully expected the eventual Spanish "permanent Contract" to be wholly insulting, but neither I, nor anyone else was expecting this desultory offer made to the HEL based crew.

Welcome to Ryanair Finland, sorry NAS Finland, no sorry, right 1st time Ryanair Finland

This info was sent out from NASPA:
"Dear Colleagues,
As predicted, individual contracts are being sent out. Please find

recommends everyone NOT TO SIGN this contract.
It is VITAL that we all speak with ONE VOICE. ALL questions and
queries should be sent to NASPA, that will in coordination with lawyers
send the questions to Norwegian.
Best Regards
NASPA Board"

This is extracts from the permanent contract that on behalf of Norwegians management today, 5th of May, we been approached with. As it seems, the company thinks this is fair and competetive.
We disagree!

Looks like a  contract with the aim that people should be fooled into believing that permanent contracts are not good, very much like fr/brk?

Read the whole thing and made a plus/minus list. Not much on the plus side

+
They pay for uniform cleaning
Regulated not to work on both christmas and new years.

-
Pay for passports. Think its paid by agency now?
9 days of (25% reduction from todays 12)
1 h report time for stby
Day off payment 8% of base salary. Is this 8% of the WHOLE monts salary? If so acctually a slight increase for fo but a decrease for cpt. Currently 350/750e.
No pension apart from finnish social system. From what I understand you already have that?

Salaries, allowance not taken into account. How much is this?
Fo 2000+
3500
700
160
960 (flight pay for 80hrs)
5320 tot

New cpt
7480

Cpt 2000+
8200

Current pay based on 80 hrs

Fo 5740 plus extra pay according to finnish law
Cpt 10240

So to summarize
-25% less off days
-7% salary drop for fo
-27% salary for new cpt
-20% for experienced cpt

go around flaps15 5th May 2014 14:26
