I am curious, what are these first indications of redundancies?

Cabin crew in a lot of bases have been straight up told there might be redundancies. Pilots are less affected, as the turnover is higher, with many people leaving on a regular basis, so freezing recruitment might be enough

Search on LinkedIn, there are a few UK recruitment skippers that will be happy to answer any queries for you.

when you say recruitment skippers , I don’t want the company line on things , more the reality - especially what’s in the contract

Doesn't matter what's in the contract. It's a union busting outfit, as soon as the market changes your contract will change. You'll receive an email asking you to 'agree' with the changes, or lose your job.

Completely at odds with UK employment law.

Enjoy!

Hear! Hear! In Wizz your employment contract and your t&c-s are two completely different things. The latter is published in fancy magenta pdf-s and can be changed or entirely revoked overnight. Your contract, well it's as barebone as a contract gets, barely meeting what's required by law, but meeting it nevertheless, or at least i don't know any cases pending in any of His Majesty's Courts at the moment.

Not only in the UK.
Contracts are worthless everywhere.

Just been made aware that if you report fatigued at this ****show, you will be investigated. If the investigation deems that you weren’t fatigued (sleep scientists explain how that assessment works to me), then you go without pay. If it happens a second time, your employment effectively goes under review.

How on Earth does this airline still hold a certificate?

Only airline I know that bribes pilots with a payment to go into discretion. Morally to me this is a totally wrong and a conflict of interests.

Fist hand having read the new directive issued to crew members.

CAA, if by any chance you read this, may I suggest another audit to look into this?

Not only carrot, but stick. Crews have been fired for not accepting discretion.

Thats illegal , and they’d have a field day at an employment tribunal . Do you work for them ? I’m trying to work out this axe you are grinding
